It evokes this nostalgia and quiet optimism through dramatic, glimmering synthesizers on the top line, a meandering bass line and intimate vocals.

Idle Youth release their next single The Metamorphosis, a quick follow up to the previous monthʼs release of Enter/Desire; the next in a collection forming a ten track album over the course of 2022. Mastered By legendary engineer Noel Summerville, The Metamorphosis takes fragmentary inspiration from the Franz Kafka novel of the same name.; exploring toxicity in ones own thoughts and the conflict created by whats looking back at them. The punchy lyrics are backed up by sparse, yet striking post punk arrangements of cold synths and guitar hooks, keeping that 80ʼs feel and bringing it to the modern age. In support of the release, the official music video will be released on the same day, as well as a live stream acoustic performance.  The acoustic version of the song will be released at a later date and offers an insight in the raw development of the song. With air play this year on Radio 6, whilst performing live for BBC Introducing London, Idle Youth continue to blend synth pop and post punk of the 80's with modern electronic freedom.

London-based band, Idle Youth release their next single Disconnect, an energetic yet chilled synth pop song that spans new wave, post punk and all things 80’s, whilst remaining present day. Mastered By legendary engineer Noel Summerville, Disconnect lyrically discusses our over-reliance on technology and it’s inevitable knock on effects to our relationships with the world. 

Inspired by Fyodor Dostoyevski’s ‘The Brothers Karamazov’, questions of reality and free will are questioned. A dream pop feel runs ever present through the song, musically and lyrically.
