I receive quite a lot of submissions that does sound great, but is stilistically a bit off to the sound you are used to. It's still worth listening to, as I think there are so many interesting musical discoveries to make, so many new sensations to feel. Over the course of this series, we’ve traced the milestones of the IDMf Netlabel’s history. Each release has showcased treasures from our discography, while spotlighting the sounds and stories that shaped our label. Through it all, our veteran artists have reaffirmed their presence, showing that the IDMf community remains as vibrant and driven as ever.

To close this chapter, it’s only fitting to feature one of the label’s original architects. Wayne Baker, co-founder of the Netlabel and mastering engineer for several of its releases, steps into the spotlight with his latest work as SUBQUiRE. His track "Mute" brings the series full circle, weaving in a powerful Julie Andrews sample that parallels the challenges he’s faced with his own voice.

As we turn the final page, IDMf Retrospective Vol. 5 stands as both a celebration and a testament to the enduring legacy of the Netlabel, and forges a path for the exciting output that Glitchpulse Records has in store.
