Little Treat

Driven by a lifelong fascination with space and technology, arcsec has created a soundtrack to honor the final hours of the Opportunity rover as its battery gradually faded on the Martian surface. Unable to recharge due to a dust storm, the rover transmitted one last, incomplete image, which serves as the artwork for this EP, titled after the now-iconic tweet from Jacob Margolis.

Musically, the EP draws heavy inspiration from Autechre, particularly their Oversteps and Exai eras, focusing on fragmented, unconventional melodies while maintaining the abstract rhythms, digital textures, and atmospheric drones featured in the previous arcsec EPs. Together, these elements form a haunting, dystopian soundscape

Not long before the festive season, time to look back at 2024 and all the music that wasn't featured on syndae yet. Well, mainly because it did not fit to the theme of a show. I receive quite a lot of submissions that does sound great, but is stilistically a bit off to the sound you are used to. It's still worth listening to, as I think there are so many interesting musical discoveries to make, so many new sensations to feel.
