Maryag's mini-album "History B" is born out of the intricacy of history, in which we search for sincere human emotions. Like any search, the music here represents a combination of paths towards truth, blending styles and musical influences, seasoned with experimentation. British sound, African percussion, stretched Moog basslines, and ambient synthesized textures all come together in Maryag's new release - "History B."

Maryag is the pseudonym of Maxim Zhestkov, who combines the roles of musician, DJ, and producer. Over the past few years, his work has appeared on independent labels such as FROUFROUFROU, Inhale Exhale, Bellissima! Records, and others, and his mixes often appear on various online radio stations. Preferring Detroit house and New York disco sound, he sometimes ventures into experimenting with broken beats, introspective melodies, and elongated basslines.

Following his 2022 ‘Natural Selection’ EP and music on Comma Trax, Troubleshoot Recordings, and Draconian Audio, Scaefa returns to La bonne musique with three nostalgic club cuts. 

“I spent a lot of time listening to 90s trance and UK jungle/hardcore pirate radio mixes whilst making these tunes, and the result is an amalgam of breaks/techno/trance and ambient moments. This project is nostalgic 
musically and emotionally, with the tracks made in a period of my life spent looking back/reflecting on the past. I find the music to be both euphoric and melancholic at times.” - Scaefa. 

‘Symbiosis’ opens up Scaefa’s ‘Ambrosia’ EP with mysterious swirling synths, anticipation building before culminating into a racy Reese bass finish, this is before ‘Locate’ continues with more breakbeats which 
carefully carve and slice their way through rich melodies and vibrant stabs. 

The title track is up next, pads swelling in the background as pitched-up vocals and a subtle 303 complement its fast-paced jungle drums. 

La bonne musique co-founder n_o, formerly known as bad internet, closes out the release, turning ‘Locate’ into a retro acid techno and house hybrid complete with exhilarating stabs and organic rhythm.

With a solid and consistent sound, Hernan has been in the music since 2000. His first vinyl release at DK (Matthew Dekay Imprint) back in 2003 put a stone in his still prominent career.
Hernan has been playing alongside Argentina's main clubs Pacha, Crobar, and Palacio Alsina while also booked to a wide range of clubs in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru & US among others. During this period, he and his friends formed a collective of DJs named Feedback Bookings managing residences and booking international DJs, building a big part of the underground scene in Argentina.

In 2006 Hernan signed to Vapourise Records (Australia) 2 house tracks, one of them, 'Summer Emergency', was played by Nic Fanciulli at the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix hosted by Pete Tong reaching top sales for the summer season.

In 2008 Hernan joined Chas Burns aka Flow and take control over Low Pressings records, the UK's prestigious imprint created by Peace Division. Till now, Low Pressings release established and newcomers producers.

In 2009 Hernan toured the US, playing in NY, Ohio, Cleveland, and the WMC at Miami while releasing his now classic Ep 'Reach Your Soul' at Anjunadeep, also included in the mixed CD by James Grant & Jaytech (UK).

In 2011 signed the single 'Use Your Imagination' with Armada Music, and also begin his relationship with Club On Bookings, Sao Paulo based agency making Brazil the main route for his forthcoming years.

In the present, Hernan rotates his days between his advertisement production house Audiobranders, Low Pressings records, and his original & remixes duties

"Founded in 2021, Dark Heaven is a Chicago based event company and collective focused on curating immersive experiences with underground electronic artists, installation/visual artists, and queer performance artists. “Owelle": frenchified word derived from the English expression “Oh well”. Repurposed by Valérie Siron as her pseudonym to reflect her work ethos: serious, but without making a fuss.

Surfacing from Geneva’s club culture with a graphic design background, Owelle’s drive to synergise the audio and the visual power her expression of creative identity. Her compositions are imagined and built without boundaries, albeit replete with nods to previous genres ranging from early 2000s breakbeat, braindance and broken beat techno.

Intrigued by sensory immersion, Owelle further laces her art with interactive tools including programming, sound spatialisation and installation. Diving into a spatiotemporal journey, subtly incorporating their uses into her musical works. By blending her passion for diligent sound designing, field recordings and psychedelic vocals is how Owelle presents her approach to experimental music. Owelle’s creativity offers an intrinsic connection of her tailored rhythms and melodies to birth an original hybrid of sound and visual art.

The music within this record questions the importance of sound in relation to the individual’s environment. To blur the border between noise and aesthetically pleasing. To ride the waves between discomfort and delight and to find the potentially hidden role of situational awareness and relating it to musical endeavours derived from the emotions within.
