"After delivering an outstanding compilation of contemporary library music back in 2022, Stéréogramme is back with the second opus of his “Interactive Pictures” series.

Walking the same road as last year, paved with new age, freak folk and leftfield synths, the Paris-based label also ventures to new paths like minimalism, no wave and vocal experimentations. Once again divided in two musical panoramas, this 11-track tape will definitely bring back your happy childhood memories to the surface. First, take a nap with the soothing lullabies of Héron Cendré, Peter Graf York, Les Echos Primitifs, Lamina & Bravo Tounky, only to be interrupted by Ronan Riou’s feverish contribution. 

Then, hear the spooky, harebrained stories of Aymeric de Tapol, Leoni Leoni, Houschyar, Geier aus Stahl, Zad Kokar and Firmaet Forvoksen. In short, another marvelous line-up gathered by head-honcho Rako, who made its specialty of unearthing spontaneous yet skillful compositions.

“Owelle": frenchified word derived from the English expression “Oh well”. Repurposed by Valérie Siron as her pseudonym to reflect her work ethos: serious, but without making a fuss.

Surfacing from Geneva’s club culture with a graphic design background, Owelle’s drive to synergise the audio and the visual power her expression of creative identity. Her compositions are imagined and built without boundaries, albeit replete with nods to previous genres ranging from early 2000s breakbeat, braindance and broken beat techno.

Intrigued by sensory immersion, Owelle further laces her art with interactive tools including programming, sound spatialisation and installation. Diving into a spatiotemporal journey, subtly incorporating their uses into her musical works. By blending her passion for diligent sound designing, field recordings and psychedelic vocals is how Owelle presents her approach to experimental music. Owelle’s creativity offers an intrinsic connection of her tailored rhythms and melodies to birth an original hybrid of sound and visual art. 

The music within this record questions the importance of sound in relation to the individual’s environment. To blur the border between noise and aesthetically pleasing. To ride the waves between discomfort and delight and to find the potentially hidden role of situational awareness and relating it to musical endeavours derived from the emotions within.

Nasty Habits is the second project of Karim Bornaz. Tunisian born, Cologne based Karim Bornaz has always been a subject of Darkwave and Post-Punk influence, the persona driven via unlighted and emotional synthesis waves took it upon himself to craft his own identity dazzling and mixing organic and electronic sounds.

‘LATE & ON TIME’ EP is a 2023 craft produced and mixed by Nasty Habits condemning all high hopes that turned into either ambitions, fantasies or even nightmares. The fact is that we might never be too late for something and as long as we know that, we might take action upon ourselves to develop this certain urge to accomplish things. The ideology of this focus has been shaped via synthpunk, post-punk while absorbing some dark wave and electronic influence.
