I was planning to make a mixtape called Fck The Police" which was me rapping over Police Samples  but I became busy with LeftUnattended. I started to gather some good loops and I came up with this idea for this song, after hearing Jay-Z's PIcasso. The Graffiti artist are our time should've been acknowledged and I felt this was appropriate. The evolution of the Graff artist going from walls to designing everything else, is wonderful to me. It's inspiring to know what started in the ghettos is embraced. This was also inspired by the closing of 5 points in Queens, which was a haven for Graff Artist. Thank you for sharing and for reading. Song started about a girl who we were feeling but couldnt get with because we were in relationships. however at the end the girl singing mentioned Molly which is a name for a drug/pill and she went in on the chorus. I was just tired as hell cause this was recorded at like 5am after hanging at a party Tony Touch does in NYC. I was fried. But im happy to have rocked with Slaine who's been a homie for some time. Over a Statik Selektah beat who put it all together. Salute.

I had an engineer who was given an "unused" Dr.Dre beat with a Busta Rhymes vocal on it. Excited, I recorded this on a tour bus in some city back when 8Mile was getting filmed. I never released it. This year after interviewing Ras Kass on Sirius/XM, I found out it was a planned song. However, because of label problems, he never released it. Rather my version sit in my computer, I figured why not let someone check it out. Enjoy.

Boogie Down Productions debut album “Criminal Minded” was the prototype for East Coast Gangster Rap. BDP members, KRS One and the late Scott La Rock created the singles, “Bridge Is Over” and “South Bronx” which ignited the infamous rivalry with the Queens Bridge Super Squad, The Juice Crew. March 3rd marks the 29th Anniversary for when this iconic album “Criminal Minded” was released. 
Inspired by all things Hip Hop, D-Stroy and Q-Unique of The Arsonists fame stepped into the booth to create “Born In ‘87”, a tribute to this B-Boy Records classic. Fresh off of hosting the NFL SuperBowl and the NBA AllStar, D-Stroy never forgets his first love, Hip Hop. This M.C./Comedian who host at Yankee Stadium and on Shade45 for Statik Selektah’s ShowOff Radio, reconnects with his Arsonists brother. Q-Unique, who has released 2 albums on Fat Beats records along collaborating with Raekwon, Ill Bill and Jedi Mind Tricks, to name a few. Q is also the lead singer of Stillwell, a rock band with members of Korn and P.O.D.  He also is a co-host with DJ Eclipse on Sirius/XM’s Hip Hop Nation.
The music video starts with the two M.C.’s finding an Ecko Unltd. backpack, filled with Hip Hop memorabilia. They piece together a collectors puzzle of “Criminal Minded” between live train tracks, along with performing in an amphitheater – more importantly while having a great time.

Q sent me this beat and wanted us to do a flow pattern to the strums. I love flow patterns so he knew it was going to be a good one. RobFlow made the beat and the theme was nothing out of the ordinary. We attempted a few versions with chorus's that didn't totally work. After deleting some other featured vocals of other artist laying the chorus... I found the perfect phone conversation to place in all the gaps where there chorus would be at. A little on the intro and close it out with the rest. One night or morning after a drunk fest with Statik, he said "I want to record a song with you". I was like "Nah, i'm good, it's 6am". He's like "Nah, I'm an Arsonists fan and I want people to know you still got verses". That got me. I go in his crib and he plays 3 beats. This one talked to me. I did 1 verse and another. He already had our homie Slaine on there. It's now 7:30am and I'm like "I gotta go". I leave and the next day, this demo'd song is on 2DopeBoyz, Their playing it on the radio here and i'm upset because I didn't even finish the song. The chorus is an old chorus I use to check mic levels. Later on Statik admitted to me that he sent it to everyone on his email list. UGH.. but it was fun. Enjoy the joint. Years ago, Q and I got into a rhythm of recording, with the purpose of exercising our skills. He'd send me a beat, I'd sent him a beat and we went back and forth about about 30 songs. We kept each other hype, the difference is he would actually put his music out and I would stay holding on joints out of fear of not having the right situation. Thing is, I never pursued the "right situation" and stood in my Host lane. Normally I'd be insecure about putting joints out but this is a DEMO. Salute my Brother Q, who went in on the topic of riding the train. Here is my verse
