Now in its 200th instalment, this Podcast has given voice to a diverse offering of global talents across the musical spectrum, from the democratic rhythms of zeitgeist appropriate techno and house through to more avant-garde synthwork.

This next guest has cast a large shadow over the technosphere, so large in fact, that no introduction could fully encompass the breadth of his achievements. But in brief: Ben Klock is a titan whose formative years were spent playing marathon mixes to the crowds at Berlin’s (then recently opened) Berghain. Off the back of his endurance sets and the club’s success he became a household name whose influence grew to be felt across the world, with a body of work that includes appearances at an exhaustive list of clubs and festivals, a number of hot releases on Ostgut Ton and an equally respected self-run label (Klockworks) to boot. On this second imprint, his own productions have repeatedly seen the light of day, alongside those from the likes of DVS1, Sterac, Stef Mendesidis and younger talents like Temudo and Vil & Cravo. The sound, ubiquitous as it is, will be familiar to anyone involved in the world of electronic music and there’s good reason for that: Klock’s deep and percussive work and ability to pull from a wide range of influences have earmarked him as a unique agent for the techno cause. @hkt0 delivered 90 minutes of hypnotic techno during the Warsaw leg of the Mixmag x Burn Energy Tour 2024.

The second stop on the Burn Energy Tour 2024 put focus on the Polish capital with a full throttle line-up headlined by Dutch master of euphoria KI/KI, followed by Sept, Hekato and Ola Tecks at the spectacular Palace of Culture and Science.

The Burn Energy Tour’s lens on Warsaw’s nightlife is a testament to the game-changing work being achieved in the city, with promoters and collectives like Narocz 13, Tainspotting, Oramics and INSTYUT, and clubs such as Smolna, Luzztro and Jasna 1, forging a distinct musical identity in the city that is the best it's ever been.

In the daytime, Mixmag and Burn presented a workshop with The Blu Mantic interviewing Sept, Ola Teks and Cyryl on the topic of 'How to run your own club night'. Through their own parties such as DUEL and Move Mózg, these artists have changed the landscape of Warsaw’s dance music scene, throwing parties in interesting and offbeat locations, pushing new sounds to the fore, standing for inclusive values, and opening the minds of the next generation. Practical advice was given on how to conceptualise and build your own events, helping to inspire new members of the club community and progress the future of the scene with fresh energy.

Warsaw was the second stop on the Burn Energy Tour 2024, following the debut event in Budapest with additional stops set for Italy and Spain.

ALUKU BUSINENGE

Bokilifu Boni born in 1730 was a freedom fighter and leader of the Aluku tribe. He fought and fought for the freedom of our people and raiding all plantations until his death 
due to warfare  in 1793.
Here i am talking about him hundreds of years later with inspiration of his strength and devotion. His legacy lives through our free souls today.

With this mix i took it back to the very basics. the mindset of one big story where the rhythms lead you to hypnotize if locked in. Simplicity, with a less is more mentality. Inspired by the pace of the Apintie drums which is always fast and rhythmic. 

ALUKU BUSINENGE

For this next number comes Amsterdam-based DJ/Producer Grace Dahl, a top-notch talent with a techno heritage. Some of her early years were spent listening to her dad spin records in Spain (the place her rave-loving Hungarian father and Finnish mother then called home), a teasing precursor to subsequent chapters in her tale. A later date saw her move to the Dutch capital: here at 18, she started playing local venues, refining her method and catching the eye of stalwart party series Vault Sessions, where she took up a high-octane residency. In the decade since the pieces have really fallen into place: she’s played Berghain, Awakenings, Boiler Room and a notorious b2b set with her dad at Amsterdam’s Basis. She’s also released her debut EP Dark Side of Desire and a number of follow ups on labels like Amelie Lens’ EXHALE and Frenzy Recordings. Moving forward to the speed of her productions, her very own imprint SDT (Serial Disc Touchers) saw daylight in 2024, a channel for her unfolding prophecy, featuring familiar names like François X and Julian Müller. And it’s a good one. Her sound skims across hard groove and traditional techno, rolling bouts of rhythm and sound that offer a palette you have to feel in the gut. It’s hypnotic, powerful, frenzied stuff, a cavalcade of masterful beats that won’t slow down for a soul. For Bassiani Podcast 256, Dahl brings every one of her razor sharp wits to the table and delivers an hour long blend of staggering scale, pure-blood techno made to measure from her studio base.

Mefteh is a Berlin-based DJ and producer, originally from Tunisia. His sound blends raw, timeless, organic, and driving elements into a straight-up techno experience. With a deep passion for the underground scene, he has been shaping his craft for over 5 years, bringing an uncompromising energy to the dance floor. As a co-founder of the event series Demolate Berlin, Mefteh has played a key role in curating some of Berlin’s most intense techno nights. His productions, which he began sharing in late 2024, have already caught the attention of established labels, leading to releases on Different Sound, BCCO, HEISSS, Canticle Records, and more.
