idyll pt.2

Scrapyard Dogs (idyll Mind Remix) is a self remixed trance version of the original track created for the short film "Fist Full of Roses" which is still in pre-production. 
I tried to stay true to the original track, keeping all of the original instruments and vocals with nothing new added, but exploring various techniques and idea's to create something completely new and original.

A drum and bass tempo track and beat with an atmospheric, progressive trance sound and vibes.

Dissolve Revolution

A dark and slowly progressing atmospheric Trip-hop/Electronic style track

Black Remedy [2023 Edit]

An old track from 2015 that has been updated and completed.
An infusion of Rock, Electronic and orchestral elements with a dark melancholic tone.

Percy Jean [2023 Edit]

This was originally a section of "Fairytale in Sprite Garden" that didn't quite fit and was developed into its own track.
Tells a story through various sections exploring both melancholic and uplifting atmospheric vibes, progressing in an A-B-C structure.

Tamper

A major rework on the original track, changing most of the instrumentation and introducing new melodies to finally complete.

Gaba (2023 Edit)

Just a nice simple ambient piece.
All sounds are made from heavily processed guitar recordings.

Wash The Horizon [Intro]

Ok so whilst watching a Hamilton Morris documentary, there was a couple of quotes that was just TOO good not to put in a track and this is where they ended up haha.

Using samples from the 2019 film "Joker" heavily processed to create rhythmic sections and using quotes leading into the second half for a change of vibe to the track.

Save It For The Weekend

This is an old 2019 track finally completed.
A very relaxing piece that I find plays nicely in the background.
It explores the use of various world type instruments, which was originally inspired on purchasing the Reason "World Booster Pack" Refill (mainly to get my hands on a sampled Hurdy Gurdy) and the track features various instruments from this pack.

The bulk of the track was pretty much completed, but with new sections and instruments have been added and an over all restructuring, concluding with attention to details, transitions and mixing etc being made.

Nomad [2023 Edit]

This is just an intro track to the album, which starts with an ambient/orchestral opening and builds into an electronic piece, there is no clear structure to this one, it just progressively evolves and tells its story ;)

Another Reprise [2023 Edit]

Ok.... So I dont have a clue what genre this is, it seems to be a mash up of all sorts, from Rock, Electro, Synthwave etc.... so I just classed it as Electrowave haha.
For that reason, I felt like "Hybrid" seemed like a suitable title for the track ^_^

I have been working more on completing older unfinished tracks recently and today I decided I fancied starting something new since I had the weekend off and this is what happened.
The whole track was written and produced in a day and I believe its all thanks to my recent purchase of a Jamstik Classic midi guitar, so I dont have to rely on my crappy keyboard abilities to compose anymore haha.

Pulse

The last track I created for the album.
It has a much more down tempo electronica feel than the rest, exploring sounds and space with big beats to accompany the softer melodies.

Falling Short

This one needs lyrics, it is the one that I am completely fully satisfied with but I know desperately needs lyrics to finish it off.
The chorus synth melody is by far the most difficult to get out of your head, it is one of those that get stuck in there whether you like it or not, accompanied by some vocals I really think this track could be awesome :)

The final track to be recorded for the album which was built on the recording of a series of bass riffs, then developing the rest of the track around each riff.

Dirty Little Charcoal Fingers

The first track with lyrics intended for "The Busker and the Boy" soundtrack.
This is the first mix of the final version of the track and is very nearly complete, I am currently playing with new mixing and mastering techniques to try and obtain the best possible sound I can.
At the moment I think this track is huge and with a few minor tweeks It could be even bigger.

Im looking forward to begin working on the other tracks dedicated to this film because I have loved working on this one.

idyll Mind is the artist/producer named persona created by Joshua Gough in 2012 and since 2013 now includes Don Reece as a permanent second member, introducing lyrics and vocal performances into the mix.
