It's National Video Games Day! So I decided to celebrate by whipping up a quick cover of a song from a game within a game; "Sunny Glade" from Super Adventure Box, composed by Leif Chappelle, which is also kind of a remix of "Logan's Journey" by Jeremy Soule.

I won't lie: I'm a huge Guild Wars 2 fanboy. In today's MMORPG climate, that's kind of a social suicide thing to say, but I have no trouble saying it. I've played plenty of MMO's including the "king" World of Warcraft, and I've had more fun in Guild Wars 2 than in any of them. I'm pretty excited about the further adventures I'll be having in the game as it rolls along.

So, yeah, news flash everyone: I'm doing an EP of these. I was hoping to have released it last Monday, but I feel a bit short on time for recording and decided to use the additional time to try and secure an artist for the album art (which I'm still not certain will come through, but I'm hoping!).

I hinted at this track a while ago on Twitter, so I decided to make this the track I release to hold you all over. What are the other three tracks covered on the EP? You'll just have to wait and see. ;)

You voted for it, YouTube fans, and here it is! My metal take on "This Day Aria".

Straight-up metal, as usual. As HurricaneSparky noted, most metal covers/remixes of this source go the symphonic route, so I definitely wanted to keep this one different in that regard. It took quite a while getting all of those tempo changes ironed out, too. And how many covers out there implement Part 2? That's just screaming for the heavy. I also characterized the music according to who's singing, with Chrissy's parts being a bit darker and heavier, and Cadance's sections being a bit more upbeat.

"Dragonborn" remix is coming along great, but this last bit of tracking's gonna be tough. Expect it soon, though!
