Dedicated, hardworking and energetic – three words that sum up Norwegian artist Ørjan Nilsen. He's spent the last decade delighting audiences across the world.

Born in 1982 in Kirkenes, Ørjan was never in doubt with regard to what he wanted to do in life. Having listened to countless CD compilations and witnessing legends in action, he was certain that the DJ booth was his calling.

Forming a bond with Dutch label Armada Music early in his career, his first release on the imprint was ‘Red Woods’, a track put out in 2006 under his DJ Governor alias. Over the years Ørjan found his groove, flashing samples of his huge potential, with classics such as ‘La Guitarra’ (2008), ‘Lovers Lane’ and ‘So Long Radio’ (both 2010). He went on to release his first full-length album, ‘My Opinion’ in 2011, following this up with ‘No Saint Out of Me’ in 2013, and the multi-genre infused ‘Prism’ in 2018.

Affectionately known as the Norwegian Trance Viking, he celebrated 10 years at Armada Music in 2016 by releasing a series of remix EPs featuring some of his most recognizable hits from over the years. The likes of ‘Between the Rays’, ‘Endymion’ and ‘Hands’ all received the remix treatment from some of the scene’s freshest talents.

A strong year for collaborations, his track ‘Los Capos’ with Colombian producer KhoMha owned the charts for more than four months, preceding his second team-up with superstar Armin van Buuren on ‘Flashlight’.

The following year saw the release of his top single to date. ‘Iconic’ was voted #25 in the 2017 A State of Trance Tune of The Year, followed by a series of single releases from the aforementioned album ‘Prism’. Meanwhile his remix of Loud Luxury’s ‘Body’ hit the 5 million streams mark in just a few months.

As a DJ, Nilsen has become synonymous with an infectious blend of all things chunky and groovy. His energy and presence behind the decks have taken him around the world, playing at some of the finest clubs and biggest festivals, from Sao Paulo to Sydney and everywhere in between.

Showing no signs of taking his foot off the gas, Nilsen has released a string of singles in 2019 including trance-driven hits ‘Fomo’, ‘The Chosen One’ and ‘Don’t Need To Know Your Name’ – all leading up to the release of his fourth studio album, The Devil Is In The Detail.

With an album release party on the way during one of dance music’s biggest events - ADE - one thing is certain, there's no stopping this Norwegian globetrotter. Felguk has produced more than 100 tracks including official remixes for artists David Guetta, The Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Zedd, Flo Rida, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Zach Montoya and Brayden James met in a science class in college. Brought together by a shared love of live music and production, they formed the electronic duo Syence. As a teenager, AVAION had a dream – a dream of a gold record that, in his mind, he had already assigned its very own spot on the wall of his children’s room. Twelve years later, this wish came true when he was honored with the platinum award for his debut single “Pieces”, which has been streamed millions of times and heralded the German songwriter and multi-instrumentalist’s breakthrough as one of the most exciting and promising young stars of the international electronic music scene at the end of 2019.

AVAION began DJing in local clubs in southern Germany. His setlist also included his first self-composed tracks, which he posted simultaneously on Soundcloud. AVAION set a first milestone in 2019 with his celebrated debut single “Pieces”, released by Sony Music. “The song was written during a difficult and depressing period in my life,” says AVAION as he reflects on his big breakthrough hit. “I was very unhappy at the time, and every day I would sit with my eyes glued to my computer screen after my late shift, trying to come up with new tracks. I was desperate to find a way out of this situation. ‘Pieces’ is about those times when you literally fall into a thousand pieces...” – and it is a track that was to fundamentally change AVAION’s life: The various versions of “Pieces” now have a combined total of over 100 million streams, more than 63 million of which are on Spotify alone. AVAION delights and inspires more than 2.7 million Spotify listeners every month – and this number is rising quickly! The multiaward-winning track entered the Spotify Top 100 in South Africa as well as the Mexico and Italy Viral 50. It also reached 30th place in the Italian Billboard Dance Charts, 76th in the German singles chart and 70th in the German airplay chart. With more than 500 million total views on TikTok, IG Reels and YouTube and entries in the Top 50 in nine countries on Apple Music, “Pieces” has become an important pillar of AVAION’s creativity and artistic identity. It also boasts an incredible level of popularity, which received a further boost from the remake that was released at the end of 2021 with VIZE and Leony as featured guests.

Emerging from the LA house scene, BLUUR is sure to have the dance floor packed. Stemming from the mind of Jason Lopez, BLUUR began his career producing melodic future bass, but soon realized he had a deep affinity for house music. Since then, he has cultivated a distinct sound with his pair of back-to-back singles, “Dance” and “No Sleep”, both released in the summer of 2021.

A sense of freedom and living in the moment are the pillars of the BLUUR identity, as he wants everyone to let go and dance the night away. BRANDON is a German DJ and producer from Cologne with
American roots. He is considered as a pioneer of the German G-House movement, whose beginnings are rooted in BRANDON’s experiences in the UK scenes of London and Los Angeles. With multiple successful releases on Confession, Ministry of Sound, Night Bass, Gold Digger etc.

iEDM Radio Episode 150: Infected Mushroom

A producer and DJ from Bournemouth, UK, FuntCase (AKA James Hazell) is known for his raw and dirty sound, forging the way with his controversial “filthy” style. 

James first expressed his love of music through jamming with his schoolmates, taking his energetic and aggressive drumming style from death metal. He was also heavily influenced by happy hardcore and jungle, growing up to a background of Helter Skelter and Dreamscape mixtapes. 

After hearing “Bandwagon Blues” by Twisted Individual, James fell in love with the drum and bass sound and began to focus his talents on producing. Sharing his tracks with D&B radio stations led to the first recognition of his foot-thumping talents, and under the alias DJ Dose he released for the first time in 2007. 

In 2009 James began to dabble with producing dubstep, and gave his tunes a unique energy by incorporating the drum and bass layering technique into his dubstep sound. His first track “Make Our Day” was quickly signed to 4:20 Records, and the raw sound that is FuntCase had begun.

It wasn't long before FuntCase began trading tracks with Doctor P, and an offer soon followed to bring James into the Circus Records camp with the release of his famed track “So Vexed’ in 2010. 

Since then, FuntCase has become a legend of the DJ world. With an incredibly loyal fan base Funty is known worldwide for working hard, playing hard, traveling hard, and DJing hard on stages globally.

TRINIX is a young French production duo formed in 2012. Their remixes and original music can only be described as an incredibly unique combo of hip-hop and electronic music, embodying individuality in every sense. Obsessed with music from a young age, they embody the renewal of the French Touch. 

A few years after their debut, they opened for MethodMan & Redman’s show at Transbordeur, and thanks to this performance they were quickly noticed by major players in the music industry. 
Trinix now offers eclectic and explosive live shows at many festivals in France. They constantly keep moving, and there is no doubt these two young-guns have a very promising future ahead of them.

Jantsen has been fully immersed in the dance music scene for over fourteen years, establishing a strong presence in the industry through his eclectic individual sound. Influenced by genres such as jazz, blues, funk, reggae, hip hop and world music, he’s created a musical style that’s both creative and unique. 

Jantsen’s enthusiastic personality shows through in DJ sets with his fun, energetic, and contagious stage presence. IEDM Radio Episode 191: Jantsen

Since establishing himself in 1997 with the seminal ‘Far From The Maddening Crowds’, to his breakout album ‘Behind The Sun’ (2000), to his second-gen LPs ‘Somersault’ (2007) and ‘Giants’ (2010), Nick Bracegirdle has fashioned a flawless album discography filled with instant classics.

Born in Chalfont St Giles, England, Bracegirdle was quickly acknowledged and applauded for supplying the soundtrack to the seminal Ibiza period, becoming the aural backdrop to the Ibiza of sunsets and sunrises. 

There are, however, two sides to Chicane: his records and his live performance. Over the last fifteen years the standard and excitement of Chicane shows has grown, and the shows permeate the very essence of what Chicane is all about: people sharing a unifying moment through music, no matter what age or culture they belong to.

Chicane, somewhat confusingly for those early dance fans, is a band. They have played festivals like Glastonbury and V Festival, as well as countless gatherings around the globe and on every continent. They’ve powered out hits such as Offshore, Saltwater, Don't Give Up, Stoned In Love, Poppiholla, juxtaposing them with more esoteric and loved tracks from six studio albums and newer live favorites.
