In iEzra's latest single, Just a Little More, the author finds himself in a Ponzi guilt complex that he rationalizes by laundering all manner of vice through himself. It is a swaggering tale replete with carnival grifters and alcoholics, dirty brass men and deranged capitalists. As their world goes up in post-apocalyptic flames, they lament their vices, staggering in the smoking cesspool of repentance and unrequited greed, crying to be taken back in.

"On March 11th, 2020, the coronavirus pandemic seemed to crystalize the national consciousness" ran a WIRED headline. It was the day everything started to change for everyone. Exactly one year later, iEzra is releasing his track "Hammock" as an ode to all the recently departed. He does not write about COVID but his message serves as a universal eulogy. "Hammock" is a song that remembers his deceased grandfather and the lyrics reveal in heartbreaking detail their beautiful relationship before it was ended too soon by Alzheimers. It is both a haunting and revelatory coming of age story where innocence is confronted by death. Musically the songs begins naked, an a cappella vocal, soon clothed by shimmering guitars, farfisa organs and percussion, until a chorus of tolling bells and operatic singers fly the listener into a magic-Guillermo-del-Torro-other-world-of-orchestral-"do you realize"-epic-ness that only dissolves when it reaches too high and descends in a Beatles-esque freefall...and once again we are left alone with our frailty, hands outstretched, propped up by the hope of fairy tales.
