A hearty good morning to all of my friends in the music community. I hope life is treating you well. :)

This track ended up feeling old-timey/antique (as portrayed by an out of control Foley Artist). But funny thing is… when the title came to me, I got a powerful vibe the track wanted this name. I’m a little peculiar that way. I perceive a lot of things as if they are living entities with their own desires… and I like to honor that. 

After that, I started playing with Wombo Dream AI art, and this illustration came up immediately; and fit the title perfectly. Sometimes the synchronicities are too ideal to ignore. 

But how does an old guy sitting in a chair, listening to a radio, symbolize fresh starts?

I think it’s because I’m starting to identify with that old man; wondering when I’m going to be too old to try new things. And I keep having the same joyful realization… it hasn’t happened yet; especially in the ways that matter most to me. I’m still discovering new things about myself and my abilities every day… simply because I keep exploring new things.

For example… 20 year old Justin never could have imagined that 36 year old Justin might be interested in making music for fun. He certainly couldn’t have predicted the piano lessons starting at 53, or the Tai Chi lessons at 54, or that I would have crafted 14 albums by the age of 55. I have friends and family members who believe their best years are already behind them, and the window of opportunity has passed. I respectfully disagree; and I hope to make that point obvious through my own continued actions/accomplishments. :)

Needless to say, every day provides us new opportunities to start fresh. Every day provides us a chance to try new things. If we choose to spend the day worrying about the future, or dwelling on the past, that is our choice. But it’s worth asking ourselves… am I busy shoveling minutes into the void, dwelling on things that aren’t even happening right now? Or am I using this time wisely, doing something I love, and getting better at it as a result?

We'll Start At The Beginning

"In the gentle rain of Elysium, every drop carries a promise of peace and eternal bliss."

Elysium is a mythical paradise in Greek and Roman mythology. It's often described as a place of eternal happiness, peace, and contentment, where the souls of the righteous and virtuous dwell after death.

My composition titled "Rain of Elysium" is an Alchemy Pad used in this production.

I have used a combination of instruments to capture the ethereal and serene qualities of Elysium, and introduced the harp's melody to evoke as a gentle patter of rain. 

With the rhythmic patterns & melodies I have accompanied the harp's melody to create a sense of movement and energy.   I have also experimented with different dynamics to create contrast and build tension and release by starting with the arco strings and alchemy pads to intensify the mood.

With the different harmonic progressions I have attempted to add depth and complexity to the music.  The chord voicing have been used to create a unique and atmospheric sound. 

By layering the Alchemy Pads I have created textures and timbres for that airy yet rich and immersive soundscape & ambient noise to create a sense of atmosphere.
