One moves from being unaware and unconsciousness to becoming an empowered, conscious, loving, holistic, and fully-functioning person. One learns to take the next step and then the next to initiate oneself into greater understanding of the mysteries of Life. As awareness expands one realizes such things as there is only one of us.

Who I am expands to include all of life. Knowing and feeling connected to this full Self unfolds in stages, as there are degrees of truth along the way to Truth. It is a continual process of exploring self and others, participating in relationships and groups, and learning to know and experience your inner self.

We've been waiting a while for this one! The album My Heart Is Love from Asheville-Baltimore duo Aligning Minds took us by surprise earlier this year. Full of downtempo, psychedelic, glitchy goodness, the healing vibes of the long play took us on a fantastical journey from which we never wanted to return. Until now. Dan Merrill and Mike Folk got a bunch of their buddies in the industry to throw down some tasty takes on the album's tracks. IGBOOGÃ - ANCESTRAL HORIZONS EP

The igbo and the ogã (o-gan). In the ancient and sacred Yoruba language, ogãs are the priests responsible for the music in rituals and sacred feasts, while igbo is the jungle where they find their plants of power. With this inspiration, the Igboogã project is a partnership between Diogo Reyes Silva and Ilarí Papá, two musical producers with a history full of rich African cultural heritages. Thus, the songs presented here are the psychedelic tributes of such "priests of the sacred woods" to these legacies, an synesthetic musical journey, guided by ancestral visions of self-knowledge, healing and dance.

The name in the Yoruba culture depicts IGBO as forest and OGÃ as the men who have the ability to activate energies through percussion instruments in ritualistic ceremonies.
