Meine Neuinterpretation/Cover von "Der Leiermann" aus Schubert's "Winterreise"
(welche wiederum eine Interpretation von Gedichten aus Wilhelm Müller's gleichnamiger Gedichtesammlung ist.)


"Drüben hinterm Dorfe
Steht ein Leiermann
Und mit starren Fingern
Dreht er, was er kann

Barfuß auf dem Eise
Wankt er hin und her;
Und sein kleiner Teller
Bleibt ihm immer leer

Keiner mag ihn hören
Keiner sieht ihn an;
Und die Hunde knurren
Um den alten Mann

Und er läßt es gehen
Alles, wie es will
Dreht, und seine Leier
Steht ihm nimmer still

Wunderlicher Alter
Soll ich mit dir gehn?
Willst zu meinen Liedern
Deine Leier drehn?"

Ich kenne Der Leiermann seit meinem 18. Lebensjahr
und er hat mich nie wieder losgelassen.
Für mich ist es kein Schlusslied,
sondern ein Zustand.
Immer dieselbe Leier.
Weiterdrehen.

Wilhelm Müller schrieb die Gedichte zur Winterreise
eher leicht, stellenweise ironisch gedacht.
Er starb 1827 mit 32 Jahren. 1 Woche vor seinem 33. Geburtstag.
Im selben Jahr veröffentlichte Schubert die Winterreise —
mit 30.

Schubert hatte zu diesem Zeitpunkt seine große Liebe verloren.
Drei Jahre lang hatte er versucht, sie heiraten zu können,
ohne Geld, ohne Stand, ohne Chance.
Am Ende folgte sie dem Druck ihrer Familie
und heiratete einen anderen.

Es gab kein Happy End.

Schubert nahm Müllers Texte
und machte daraus etwas völlig anderes:
kein Liederzyklus,
sondern das erste echte Emo-Konzeptalbum der westlichen Musikgeschichte.

Ein Jahr später, am 19. November 1828,
stirbt Schubert selbst — mit 31.
Zwei Monate vor seinem 32. Geburtstag.

Ich bin jetzt auch zwei Monate vor meinem 31. Geburtstag
Vielleicht fühlt sich das deshalb alles so nah an.

Die Aufnahme ist bewusst karg und ruhig.
Mehr Zustand als Statement.

es liegt bereits in der Schaffung, dies ist der 1. Track. 


Die Winterreise endet nicht, man läuft im Kreis;
Nachts hört man genauer.
Wenn der Schleier am dünnsten, nur noch ein Hauch von Tüll
