Echoes and imagery ooze from deep within the frozen fortress that is igloo two. Through this re-imagined menagerie of sample-based creatures, a new hybrid is born – part man, part beast, part machine. The trip hops from jangly soulful beats to blissful brainwave vibrations to the edges of insanity, but always lands safely on a dense bed of bouncing rhythm that defies even the stiffest neck to remain still. This is the kind of music that may feel strangely familiar, as if you once heard it in a dream or coming from a distant window as you walked down the street. An ethereal nostalgia combines with futuristic experimentation in this infinitely listenable, danceable or just chillable collection. The opening track, knife fork, interlaces a windy, watery world with tingly threads of virtual reality. The closing track, drive around, conjures images of the bright lights and daily drama of an insect metropolis. The rest of the ep spans all the space inbetween. igloo two’s new release 'silver eyes meets doctor robot' is a curio of atmospheric narratives as much a mysterious tale of crate diggers. With this album, the duo’s gritty private eye deep-dive into traditions uncovers their own unique subterranean brewing of original songs, textures, and inspirations. 

Filled with lo-fi rock riffs, quirky synth sounds, and hard thumping drums, the album is jam packed with goodies for late night rhymesayers, public radio segment transitions, or modern gaming domesticity. 

The refreshing sense of humor that accompanies their sonic daydreams accompanies hand-in-hand their understanding of song structure and how to play for the unexpected. 

While many similar groups get away with 8-bar loops, igloo two gives whole meals with their songs. As experienced musicians and audiophiles, they stretch out to explore in sonic-yoga, rather than reduce in hurry-based production. 

Perhaps igloo two’s greatest penchant lies in the texture and layers they are willing to fashion handmade. Effects, instrumentations, and a blurring of melody and harmony enter the listener into a cross-section of imagination that is its own species. 

And, the inventiveness and balance between percussion and minimalism is an achievement. Without name-dropping, their crunchy-programmed drums are a 90’s underground hip-hop heads savor. The polyrhythms on tracks have a listener feeling the groove but spun around on the 1. And, the discreet use of percussive sounds adds the perfect touch and spice, where lesser artists would call it a day at 808s.

Growroom Productions is back with a new release from igloo two, these are just the tunes you need to keep those summertime vibes going strong..  The lazy daze / earthier substance : remixed single is a preview and introduction to igloo two's forthcoming silver eyes meets doctor robot : remixed album.  These five remixes will give the listener a good warm-up for what is coming next, and three of these tracks are exclusive to this release.

First up to remix 'lazy daze' is Stereo 77, who hails from Orlando, who turns in one of his characteristic Ricanstructions, full of crisp percussion and head nodding house beats.  Not to be outdone is Budapest's Clairvo, who drops some heavy womp-womp bass, funky breaks and dubby delays in his remix. The third 'lazy daze' remix is by DC based Ozker, who delivers a deep house remix that meanders through spaced out soundscapes over 11 minutes.

The other track remixed in this release is 'earthier substance', and Savages y Suefo's remix is an instant trip-hop and big beat classic.  The Budapest based duo built upon the strengths of the original to create some funky analog vibes for the ages, this is timeless music.  Closing out this release is Victoria, BC based Palletz who took 'earthier substance' in a completely different direction.  Crank up the volume and watch the bass boom, as Palletz builds up steadily into a trap-influenced glitch-hop heater.

After releasing silver eyes meets doctor robot in Fall 
2018, igloo two began tapping some producers around 
the world to remix their tracks.  The resulting 
silver eyes meets doctor robot : remixed has arrived 
and features 13 wicked remixes, ranging through a 
variety of genres.  Back in 2017 igloo two released their [ep] remixed and three of those remixers have been enlisted once again, keeping the Growroom Productions family strong and growing.

A few talented producers have taken igloo two's chilled out beats and pumped them up for the dancefloor.  Australia's own Frankee More has turned 'stuck in transit' into a tropical boogie, complete with electro grooves and some chunky nu-disco beats.  Fellow Aussie Pecoe has flipped the 'silver eyes theme' into some breaky electro-funk with serious dancefloor sensibilities. German producer Quincy Jointz takes 'pretty showcases' into a futuristic late night after-hours party with some crisp broken beat grooves.  Savages y Suefo hail from Hungary and have given 'earthier substance' a full-on trip hop treatment with vinyl scratches, blips, beats and a couple of big builds.

Because igloo two's music is pretty laid back, its logical that a few producers kept their remixes within the chillout zone.  First up is UK based Daytoner who has transformed 'between sleeping people' into a sunny, Bossa tinged downtempo anthem with tropical feel. The rest of the producers in this group are Washington, DC based, including Boogie.  His remix of 'phoning it in' takes the listener into a musical daydream complete with dubby beats and ethereal washes, guitars and percussion floating into place. Astronaut Jones and FADE are two alumni of igloo two's [ep] remixed previous release, and both return with strong tracks. 'robot md' is reworked by Astronaut Jones who add more instrumentation, layered complexity and a hefty piece of classic trip-hop with lush soundscapes.  The FADE Remix of 'joliet' adds some light  vocals, fresh keys and a very bright mood to create a fun and breezy chillout vibe.  Taking on the 'silver eyes intro' is igloo two themselves, who seem to have taken the scant intro deep into downtempo territory with further explorations of eclectic instruments, sounds and vibrations.

Two remixes found themselves squarely in the house music bin, the first being Orlando's Stereo 77 Remix of 'lazy daze'. Stereo 77's Ricanstruction relies upon some heavy bass, bopping beats and sick percussion and synths throughout to create some abstract early morning house.  In a similar vein is Washington, DC based Ozker who has reworked 'static shuffle' into a deep house burner, complete with vocals effects, smooth dubbing and that after-hours at the Paradox feel!  

Not to be left out, two tracks received the drum'n'bass treatment, albeit in rather different directions. Rising DC production team Ornette Hawkins & Kalu has taken 'just green' through a complete drum-funk workout, with sophisticated beats and moody affects, this one's for the heads! Barcelona based Los Chicos Altos have opted for the sunny, swinging sounds on their remix of 'big ego scene', strap yourself in and get ready for a fun and jazzy d'n'b romp.

This incredible body of music, called the semdr : remixed album has some fresh sounds for just about everybody, from hardcore heads to casual listeners. Genres ranging from big beat, trip hop and downtempo to house and drum'n'bass are all represented. So keep an open mind and enjoy these fresh beats and breaks.
