Franky Wah makes his debut with a suitably epic original and teams up with El Maestro for an interesting collaboration project.

Very much a product of the modern age, where artists are in fact multitasking entrepreneurs, Franky has shot into the  music scene with savvy business practice and the musical skills to back it up. Setting up his own brand, SHÉN; a label, events company and clothing offshoot, has given him a base to get exposure and thus, release on a cross section of labels from seminal underground strongholds, Anjunabeat to Bedrock to LNOE to Major labels like EMI and Polydor.

His opener, a solo effort, has been collecting massive reactions from the clubs - as certified by the very own Hernan Cattaneo, eager supporter of the track. ‘Riptide’ does exactly that from the off. Groovy, understated but quietly deadly, once the vibe grabs hold, it’s almost impossible to resist. Developing over the first section, slowly at first, but then increasingly quickly as the tension builds, Franky drops a killer track that will pique everyone's interest.

For their collaboration, Franky and Hernan present the uptempo monster, Groovejet. Pulsating, energetic and just a little dark, this is everything you’d expect from the master at peak time with the whole club in the palm of his hand. This years Scorchio for sure!

The latest release on 3rd Avenue sees Ben Monday revisiting his acclaimed 2024 "Galaxy" EP, this time handing the originals over to a diverse cast of remixers for a fresh reinterpretation. Though a relatively new alias, Ben Monday has already carved out a unique identity in the melodic house and electronica space, supported by leading tastemakers such as Lane 8, Nick Warren, and Lee Burridge. With a background in both production and radio, his music blends immersive sound design with emotional depth, qualities that remain central to this new remix package.

Bringing an international flavor to the EP, Ignacio Hernández from Argentina, Felipe Garcia from Uruguay, Edu Russo from Spain, and goodkidmadcity from Pakistan each offer a distinct perspective on Ben's originals.

So I had my first ever headline set at Skyline this past weekend, and I learned what it really means to be a DJ. Now, I'll never be a DJ like John Digweed, who can create this whole vortex of sound, and while all the craziness is going on, he's just standing at the center of the eye of the storm, eyes on his mixer, in complete control. How I DJ is completely different. I like to bring my passion for this music, I like to bring my enthusiasm for this music into the DJ booth. 

Because how I create a connection with the dancefloor, and that's what DJing to me is really all about, creating a connection with the dancefloor. How I do that is I hope the clubbers on the dancefloor can see a little bit of themselves in me. They can say, hey, just like this guy is enthusiastic and passionate about the music, I'm just as enthusiastic and passionate myself. If he can do it, I can do it. 

So in the words of Danny Tenaglia, just be yourself. As much as DJing is a skill set, it's also a mindset. You have it in you to go and achieve your dreams. Just go out and do it. Let's go.

Ignacio Hernández is a 21 year old DJ and Producer, born in Rosario, Argentina. From an early age, he showed a deep interest in music, and at the age of 15 he immersed himself in music production through videos on the internet. Thus, he managed to release his first track in 2021, starting his career as a music producer.

Focused on the progressive house genre, Ignacio has cultivated a style that combines enveloping melodies with warm grooves, thus creating both introspective and energetic sound journeys. His tracks have been released on labels such as Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, 3rd Avenue, South America Avenue, Massive Harmony, among others.
