We are proud to see the legendary bass virtuoso The Clamps return to Code Smell with another heavy stinker.

The single is called “Conviction” it is a modern and forward sounding no nonsense neurofunk banger. It starts by captivating the listener with it’s dark atmosphere until it finally explodes into a perfect blend of dangerously facemelting basslines and meticulously programmed and hard hitting drums. Shut in behind shuttered blinds, Katelyn took a drag of her cigarette. She didn’t know why she smoked. Perhaps it was just because the other girls did it. Of course, the other girls were those who had so kindly chased her into this hollow out of fear. She was different, she did their work better, her skin was interrupted by alloyed plates and her body couldn’t feel a single pleasure that wasn’t carnal. With a quick puff, Katelyn cursed herself and her designers, who had so brilliantly forbade her from so much of the world with a few lines of code and subcutaneous circuitry connections. Most food tasted the same, she had no sense of smell, and no drug nor the cigarette she smoked could ever help her escape the life that festered in these neon alleyways as they did for everyone else. No, her cyber pleasures were rooted firmly in a single sense - touch, the medium through which she performed her work. 

Katelyn had recently begun to wonder if she’d find pleasure in some of the more perverse applications of that sense. Sexual pleasures had become all but passe to her, but she knew that human brains could easily twist the pathways between joy and terror. She wondered if she’d find pleasure in killing someone. Sometimes, she considered crushing her client’s windpipes. The sinewy synthetic silk that made up her tendons gave her enough strength to do so with only her ring and pinky finger. She imagined the suckering “pop” that might emanate were she to pluck an eyeball from its socket, or the warmth of the blood that might spray forth from an artery severed by the honed edges of her acrylic nails. She was awoken from her daydream by a knock on the door - a client, she supposed. Katelyn took one last long drag of her cigarette and took a single, small delight in the sensation of extinguishing its embered end on the tip of her tongue. Perhaps, she mused as she walked to answer the door, perhaps...

KUTLO makes his EATBRAIN debut with CYBER PLEASURE, an EP that brings a tantalizing array of auditory delights to the eager ears of the Eatbrain horde. With him arrive a host of talents known to loyal label listeners, as he collaborates with Liveon, Notequal, and famed vocalist Fedora for the creation of four tracks that ooze with a KUTLO’s sleek cybernetic style.

For millennia, learned individuals the world over have sought to unravel the secrets of alchemy, that famed occult science that allows for the transmutation of elements from one type to another. In the beginning, its secrets were sought by scholars who ingested mercury to prolong the lives of their physical bodies even as its poison vapors drove them to madness. Then came those who sought to transform mundane lead into brilliant, shimmering gold, and they too were poisoned by the former metal’s insidious and lurking aftereffects. In the more recent past, there have been those who have succeeded in the alchemical pursuit to a certain degree, splitting certain heavy elements into their more basal forms through the power of fission, and yet even in their successes these individuals too were poisoned for their hubris, the effects evermore immediate and horrific than those faced by their predecessors. 

Indeed, despite these scientists’ efforts at alphabetical categorization of the known elements, the truth of the gods remains sealed away in the depths of space, guarded by beings unknowable and all-powerful. True transmutation is the property of one singular element carefully withheld from the grasp of mortal beings. Its genesis in the womb of the divine mother gives it this singular quality, and this property has been wielded by the gods since time immemorial to shape, craft, and hone the vast expanses of the universe. Its silvery hue is echoed in the rays of a million distant stars, the children of the divine mother who have in turn given birth to all further life. What mortals have sought for so long has been forever known as ARGENTUM, and its ineffable form shall never grace their greedy hands. 

SITRI returns to EATBRAIN with his latest single, ALPHABET//ARGENTUM, which sees him synthesize futuristic rhythmic sequences and transmute thrashing basslines to surge alongside them for his second EATBRAIN release.
