Ignition, real name Lehlohonolo Nkoane, was born and raised in Katlehong, a township located in the East of Johannesburg. He started rapping at the age of 13 and by the age of 16 had formed a group together with his friends known as The Expendables. The Expendables went and recorded a 5 Track EP which went Unreleased. They later disbanded. In 2012 he met DoneFam (a Soweto based Hip Hop Movement) of which he became a member of.
Ignition was one of the artists that took part in YFM's Fullclip (a Hip-Hop show that was based on giving platform to unsigned rappers to show case their skill, hosted by by Sizwe Dhlomo( A.K.A Sizz) and Siyabonga Ngwekazi (A.K.A Scoop). He since made a few appearances on the show .He then went on to release a couple of singles that made waves in the underground scene, To the Top, When You Fall, Tshaba Dingwenya, to name a few.
Due to his University studies there has been a delay in releasing his 6 track EP,"Long over Due" which he decided to release end of August '16. We can also look foward to be a feature from P-Kay Album “The Rise" (Reflection of time) on the song "Izingoma Zezangoma"with Kruna and One Way.
He then Joined Coalesce Nation Records in 2015 and he is still part of DoneFam. There is more coming from Ignition, possibly a full length album late 2017.
