Kevin O' Connor and Kevin Clesham first started playing together while in school, taking part in various talent shows in school. They soon decided to start a band, and so, Brendan and David were added to the lineup. They originally dabbled with covers of songs by bands such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Arctic Monkeys and Kings of Leon, but soon lost interest in covering songs and decided to start writing their own music. 
Since the band started, they have experience playing their original music in the top music venues around Galway, including Monroes and the Roisin Dubh and have also recorded a number of their songs in Abhaile Studios, in Ballinrobe. The lads are currently working hard writing new music and after breaking their teeth in while gigging in Galway, Ignition Kid are looking to spread their music their music to a larger audience.
