Hey! This track actually was an old Sans Hopes and Dreams that I started working on a bit after HPtU v2, but then immediately dropped because of I had no idea where to go with it. Then a few days ago, I started thinking about what a unique Sans HnD would sound like and moreso why Sans would fight the human if he were in Asriel's place. You know how Sans mentions he gave up on "going back" while not in referring to the surface? Basically, I thought that, with the power of a god, he could possibly "go back" to wherever that is. The point of this fight helping Sans come to terms that "going back" (literally and figuratively) isn't an option so he doesn't destroy the current reality as we know it.
It's an interesting kind of situation that I don't think has been explored that too much in AUs. Beyond that, it's a take on a unique Sans HnD that is *kind of good* in my opinion like how Megalo Fever was a very good take on a Sans BAaTH. Hope you guys enjoy! Cya!

Furtherfell is an AU, split into several branches, portraying the various hypothetical neutral endings of the 'canon' Underfell. In this instance, 'canon' refers to the version on Tumblr, created by the infinitely talented Fella. They don't actually consider it canon, but for Furtherfell it most certainly is. It is inspired by the concept of Aftergore, though only in concept and not in execution. Our story follows a human by the name of Hare, entering a world they do not understand, that has been forever changed by the actions of someone they've never even met.
We won't be 100% accurate to Underfell; some elements may be changed, either due to a lack of information or just due to us wanting something to differ.

"Furtherfell - Rethroned" follows on from an incomplete pacifist ending. Toriel comes out of hiding, and establishes herself as “Mother” of the underground, making swift changes to how things work. She maintains a strict rule, attempting to prevent another reign of tyranny. Humans are to be treated with kindness, and to be delivered to the Queen.

Papyrus takes the role of Undyne! After Undyne was demoted, he took the rank of captain of the Royal Guard, appointed by Toriel. Due to his new position, he's fallen further into his role of an edgy, almost cartoonish villain, although his kindness occasionally breaks through this. However, beneath this surface-level evil is a much more serious motivation... Which he finally unveils now.
