PHYR Records unveils its landmark fifth release, presenting a profound artistic collaboration: Oscar Mulero and label founder Pyramidal Decode join forces for "Il Poema EP," a double black vinyl that traverses the depths of techno’s sonic and conceptual frontiers.

Inspired by Dante Alighieri’s legendary Divina Commedia, "Il Poema" is conceived as a transformative journey through the labyrinths of the psyche. Twelve meticulously crafted tracks, each echoing a phrase from the poem, act as electronic stanzas—guiding listeners from darkness to transcendence.
About the Artists
Oscar Mulero — An icon in the global techno landscape, Mulero is celebrated for his avant-garde production, razor-sharp DJ sets, and relentless commitment to sonic evolution. Soma proudly present the first in an exciting series of releases to celebrate 25 years at the top of electronic music as we turn to some of our favourite modern artists to reinvent some of the best from the back catalogue and up first is Envoy’s timeless classic, Dark Manoeuvres. Originally released as part of the “Coalition EP’ in 1996 (which also featured the classic Seawall), Hope Grant’s instantly recognisable hit is still found in nearly every Techno DJs record box and has continually served as a beacon of Soma since it’s release Four new versions are served up here as Dax J, Norman Nodge, Obscure Shape & SHDW plus Tensal all deliver fine interpretations of this Soma classic.

Dax’s furious style is the opener as he uses the original chords as they were intended but all the time firing his concussive drum patterns directly to the dance floor. Ostgut Ton’s Norman Nodge turns in a delectable dub version in only the way he can by keeping Envoy’s original muted and delivering a subtle, introverted version. The duo of Obscure Shape & SHDW are next up and delivery one epic take on Dark Manoeuvres. The pair build the tension early, teasing the strings then unleashing an onslaught, adding their own beautifully led, string section before hammering home. PoleGroup’s Tensal closes out our first Soma 25 releases, twisting and cutting the hook to suits his means as thunderous beats work away behind this solid tool.

Marco Faraone re-imagines two Radio Slave classics for ‘The Marco Faraone Remixes’ EP this December on Rekids.

The release sees UNCAGE label founder Faraone follow his ‘True Love EP’ on Rekids with incendiary versions of two of Matt Edwards’ most iconic cuts, ‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’ and ‘Grindhouse’.
‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’, originally released on Nonplus in 2014, is turned on its head by Faraone who adds huge synth lines and fresh vocals to beefed-up drums, twisting the sparse, minimalist original production into a warehouse bomb.

On the flip ‘Grindhouse’, a track which soundtracked many a party in 2008 in part thanks to a landmark remix from Dubfire, is tweaked into an eerie stomper by the Tuscan producer who centers his version around rattling percussive delays and subtle atmospherics.

By revisiting these productions and adding his own signature flair, Marco Faraone has given a new lease of life to a set of bonafide classics.
