'Will You Be Mine' - The first song I've self produced and the first song I've put out in over two years - I hope you like it :-)

My aim was to write a song that is simple and from the heart with images that would be similar to doodles on a school book (see YouTube vid) when you have that first crush.  More than that - the feeling when you meet someone and you just know you want to be part of their life.  A few months ago, I posted a pic on Facebook and Twitter of a paper pad and pens - this is what that was about!

Will You Be Mine

This is an early acoustic version of 'The Man I Long To Be' which I found when going through some files last night.  The song is one that I wrote myself (I write all my songs) but co-produced with 'South Star Music Ltd'.  It changed a little over time before ending up on the 2008 'Breaking Shadows' demo album but this is the early version and I thought it would be good to put it on here.  This song is from the heart. Long Way Down

My third self produced song 'Won't Come Back No More' is the third of four songs I was working on a while back now (after 'Will You Be Mine' and 'Long Way Down').  It's got a similar theme to 'Long Way Down' in that it's about getting out of a bad relationship although a very different type.

Life does that living thing so this has been intermittent in creation but I hope you enjoy it and thanks for listening :)  I'll try to get the next track done much sooner (it's largely done already)!

Won't Come Back No More

This is 'In the Corner' from the 2008 demo album 'Breaking Shadows'.  I write all my own songs but I co-produced this with 'South Star Music Ltd'.

This is the first song I ever recorded and it was a great achievement for me.  A friend played it for me on the local radio and although I was actually alone when I heard it, I remember that amazing feeling to hear it played like that.  This is the song I'm most often told is a favourite from 'Breaking Shadows'.  It's very deep but I'll let you decide what it's about :)

In the Corner (2008)

This is 'Breaking Shadows', the title-track from the 2008 demo album of the same name.  I write all my own songs but I co-produced this with 'South Star Music Ltd'.

This song went through quite a journey on the way to getting a beat.  It's the kind of song I would hope can apply to all sorts of things but I know what it means to me :-)

Breaking Shadows (2008)

This is 'Tide Hit the Shore' from my 2008 demo album 'Breaking Shadows'.  I write all my own songs but I co-produced this with 'South Star Music Ltd'.

This song is quite a spiritual song and includes things about seeing what's to come, being there for loved ones and remembering that life is for living and the people we love are always with us somehow.

This song has some words in it that will always mean lots to me.

This is 'Dance With Me' from the 2008 demo album 'Breaking Shadows'.  I write all my own songs but I co-produced this with 'South Star Music Ltd'.

I was thinking of some of the old classics and the days of light hearted dancing when I wrote this.  It's not my typical sound but every now and then :)

Dance With Me (2008)

This is 'Only Just Started' from the 2008 demo album 'Breaking Shadows'.  I write all my own songs but I co-produced this with 'South Star Music Ltd'.

Other than 'In the Corner', this is the song from 'Breaking Shadows' that also got some local airplay.  The track managed to make it into a mix disc of a cabaret act so gets played in some pubs and clubs all over the place in the build up to their performance.  It's nice because it always catches me by surprise if I hear it out and about somewhere.  This is the last song on 'Breaking Shadows' and was my way of saying - there's more to come...

Only Just Started (2008)

'Breaking Shadows' was a massive learning curve and with that, I wanted to try and produce a variety of types of song.  I tried to write songs that I thought different people could relate to in their own way.  The new songs are going to be much more personal, but hopefully will retain the ability for people to relate to them :)

With 'Breakdown' I wanted to create an upbeat song with a steady energy behind it.  For me this song is about having someone in your life that doesn't seem to realise how pushy they are being towards you and you are telling them if they're not careful, they might lose it - and you.

I am really excited to get something new out there at last even though I've been working on it for ages!  Enjoy!

In 2008 I completed 'Breaking Shadows', my first demo album (co-produced with South Star Music). In 2011 I released a song called 'Breakdown' and since then I have been working on self-producing my own tracks.  I would love to make more music and I do whenever time allows - I certainly write all the time at least!  Check out 'Will You Be Mine' and 'Long Way Down' :)  I'll try and have new music soon.
