Already Broken

People of the Light continue to build a storied catalogue of releases, and for their latest - label supremo Jay Hill prepares something a little special. “Believe in Me,” releases on Friday, October 25, 2024 and brings together 2 outstanding remixers that make this one mean something more. Renowned for an ability to blend melodic intricacies with driving rhythms, Jay delivers two compelling originals, two tracks that show the two sides of her personality, split between a more peak time techno vibe and a more rhythmic house number. “Believe in Me” and “Already Broken” showcase Jay’s signature sound characterized by deep, pulsating bass, immaculate beats, and a whole load of club-ready weight.

The EP is taken to further heights by standout remixes from producers Porchcrawler and James Chang. Porchcrawler (Harvey Barker) remix of “Believe in Me” infuses the original with a fresh - Detroit style. Vibrant energy that works to craft a dynamic groove and addictive rhythm. What makes his involvement in the label extra special is that Porchcrawler is the son of one of Jays long-time mentors, and sadly departed scene originator Andy Barker from "808 State". His remix is absolutely top tier, showing the next generation will push the boundaries more than ever.

@iamjameschang also joins the record after previous outing on the label to give his take on “Already Broken”. He transforms the track with his distinctive touch, blending robust beats and warm layers to deliver a engaging reinterpretation that dances the line between deep and minimal. We chose these guys especially as their work not only enhances the original compositions but also builds on POTL's commitment to fostering creatives within the electronic music community.

A series of events, people and connections spread over the course of decades cumulate in this record. This string of moments and relationships is evident throughout the EP, where each track and remix serves as a showcase of artistic evolution that resonates on both a technical and emotional level.

Ibiza Openings 2018

ISO3 is the performance and production alter ago of Michael Newman. A deep rooted passion for music began at an early age having inherited a collection of house, funk, jazz and northern soul records which was built upon by collecting vinyl from all genres of electronic music. Italian Deep House, Detroit Techno and the UK Rave scene were all an inspiration to an impressionable youngster making beats armed with his Commodore Amiga, Turbo II sampler and Roland D-50.

Having an unrelenting desire to perform, Michael gained crucial experience in his home town of Liverpool which led to further bookings in the UK and in destinations including Australia and Ibiza. ISO3 has also featured on radio and podcasts from originators within Europe and the USA.

The ISO3 sound is a consolidation of these influences - drawing inspiration from the unique vibes and atmosphere experienced within the underground scene. Priority is producing new material and completing projects in collaboration with others, including a remix featured on the first vinyl release for People of the Light Records.
