Meeting the DEVIL is a life experience...get it? Whilst in the back of my truck, I verily realized the acoustics were stellar.

I wouldn't be one of 'em cos I don't have the nerve,
I don't have the brain or the power and don't lack reserve

Instead I would follow just to see them do it and swerve;
and there, by the wind and rain, see'em all sell their souls for berth -
to the devil.

"Here!", said he to every man or woman that be
in range of his voice and how it was over-powering.

But, my feet got stuck in the mud all up and down to my knees,
and I couldn't forfill the bargain he voiced to me;

he gobbled up their precious fees.

But, i'd sat down on my hunches since i couldn't be taken away, 
and saw the children and poppers and saw rich one's swim away;

And, there's a blood moon high in the sky quite viscious thoughtfully;
but, i guess that all depends on your perspective respectfully...

And the devil after he'd drowned them came back to the beach
he was surely searching for someone else to expose all their grief.

and when he saw me on the muddy hill and stepped up to me
just like a cat would gracefully he navigated dangerously;

if you ever made a deal that you knew would was gonna go bad?
then you'd know the feeling as i turned my back...

on my country, on my family, things i grew up know'n true
on the people that loved me and on my destiny cruise
and he helped me up.

i ignored the devil even though he had a mighty stealy grasp;
i ignored how he implored me to take up the path;
i ignored the sands and the breeze and the winds;
i ignored the blood moon as it cried over the bends,
and went on my way.
