O my dark and beautiful Lord, 

ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੋਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ 

मेरा मनु लागा तोहि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ 

My mind is attached to You. ||1||Pause|| 

ਸਾਧੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਿ ਏਹੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਕਿ ਭੋਗੁ ॥ 

साधु मिलै सिधि पाईऐ कि एहु जोगु कि भोगु ॥ 

Meeting with the Holy, the perfection of the Siddhas is obtained. What good is Yoga or indulgence in pleasures? 

ਦੁਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥੨॥ 

दुहु मिलि कारजु ऊपजै राम नाम संजोगु ॥२॥ 

When the two meet together, the business is conducted, and the link with the Lord's Name is established. ||2|| 

ਲੋਗੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਇਹੁ ਗੀਤੁ ਹੈ ਇਹੁ ਤਉ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥ 

लोगु जानै इहु गीतु है इहु तउ ब्रहम बीचार ॥ 

People believe that this is just a song, but it is a meditation on God. 

ਜਿਉ ਕਾਸੀ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਮਾਨਸ ਮਰਤੀ ਬਾਰ ॥੩॥ 

जिउ कासी उपदेसु होइ मानस मरती बार ॥३॥ 

It is like the instructions given to the dying man at Benares. ||3|| 

ਕੋਈ ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਸੁਣੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥ 

कोई गावै को सुणै हरि नामा चितु लाइ ॥ 

Whoever sings or listens to the Lord's Name with conscious awareness 

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਸਾ ਨਹੀ ਅੰਤਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥੫੫॥ 

कहु कबीर संसा नही अंति परम गति पाइ ॥४॥१॥४॥५५॥ 

- says Kabeer, without a doubt, in the end, he obtains the highest status. ||4||1||4||55||

In the gardens the flowers are there which are selectively plucked. 

theerath jaathee jaath nain nihaaleeani|
The pilgrims going to pilgrimage centres are also seen.

har chandhouree jhaath vasaae ouchaaleeani|
The imaginary habitats have been seen coming into being and vanishing.

guramukh sukh fal dhaath sabadh samaaleean |6|
All these are momentary, but the Gurmukhs with the help of the Word nourish the gift of the pleasure fruit.(6)

har kae gun har bhaavadhae sae guroo thae paaeae |
The Glorious Praises of the Lord are pleasing to the Lord; I have obtained them from the Guru.

jin gur kaa bhaanaa manniaa thin ghum ghum jaaeae |2|
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to those who surrender to, and obey the Guru's Will. ||2||

jin sathigur piaaraa dhaekhiaa thin ko ho vaaree |
I am dedicated and devoted to those who gaze upon the Beloved True Guru.

jin gur kee keethee chaakaree thin sadh balihaaree |3|
I am forever a sacrifice to those who perform service for the Guru. ||3||

har har thaeraa naam hai dhukh maettanehaaraa |
Your Name, O Lord, Har, Har, is the Destroyer of sorrow.

gur saevaa thae paaeeai guramukh nisathaaraa |4|
Serving the Guru, it is obtained, and as Gurmukh, one is emancipated. ||4||

jo har naam dhiaaeidhae thae jan paravaanaa |
Those humble beings who meditate on the Lord's Name, are celebrated and acclaimed.

thin vittahu naanak vaariaa sadhaa sadhaa kurabaanaa |5|
Nanak is a sacrifice to them, forever and ever a devoted sacrifice. ||5||
