First off, congratulations to Lesplayhouse on the 5 year anniversary!! Such a huge milestone to be celebrated! :) 

Have been a fan of Jared Jackson (since Soulection started) which is what got me into the hip hop/rnb/dance music scene! 

Another notable is I've been a secret fan of BZAR forever haha. (you'll hear a few songs from him in this set!)

More than anything as a new DJ it's been amazing meeting all the other great DJs in person (some of them from this stacked line-up) 

I sound like a broken record but I don't care haha. I'll keep on saying I love how helpful and welcoming the Bay Area DJ community has been! From suggesting record pools, to just talking how to get more opportunities in the scene! Love that there's a contest like this to try to perform on one of the most dope stages in SF!!!

All I'll say is I fucking love music. I think DJing is the most present you can be with music. Such a great way to express emotion and play. You're literally feeling a vibration. Unfortunately was unable to play any Prince though! 

But started with a lot of good 90s Rap + Motown + good throwbacks but then I ran out of music and tried to stay with the assignment as much as I could with the future beats! But it seemed like everyone enjoyed it! Was fun to see Mama vibin' to the Janet Jackson and Earth Wind and Fire haha!

So yeah first hour is more old school, then I get into my groove of future beats towards the end! Debut a little bit of my baby scratching which I'm definitely trying to build more confidence in! I'm working on it actively!!

Super grateful for Dom, Link and Justin for Hosting me! SP2 Staff is so awesome man
Appreciate the vibes from Rieta, Katjabba and of course the big bro Esentrik! 

I was told to "keep it sexy" haha (for Valentines of course!)
Went a good amount of Amapiano and Future beats for the first 1 min 45 then a special Miami Bass treat from me the last 15 minutes! 

And yes, there are no Esentrik Edits in this mix! 
(since I'm opening for the king of edits aha but no worries!)

Not gonna lie this is my second time using an S11!

Side note: DJ Question for ya'll! - Do you feel like 1/2 beat echo sounds better than a 1 beat echo on the S11??? I feel like I like 1/2 beat way more. Whenever I used 1 beat it felt like the echo was dragging haha. I also still don't know how I feel about going from 25% vs 50% reverb! does it sound too strong? haha let me know! 

But otherwise was super dope and I'm grateful for the opportunity! Was able to meet some of the San Jose DJs I look up to and play their edits! Double A & Trixamill! 

Excited to keep spinning in the South Bay more as the opportunities present themselves!

2nd Time using a Motorized Platter (Rev 7) ever in my life, but felt pretty good about it! haha
And side DJ question the Platter would slow down out of no where but also go in reverse (?) - maybe a rekordbox driver issue lol

Anyway started at around 90BPM and worked up to 110BPM after the first hour, I'm always pretty anxious with the slower music, but I get a groove when I get to the future beats amapiano at the faster BPM - 

Finally got into the groove 110-119BPM with the bouncey future beats, but of course you know I'ma get to MIAMI BASS MIKEY!!! 

haha just went off with the Miami Bass at around 1hour 45min! 

I think at the 3 hour mark I played some Bay Area Hyphy Ratchet top 40 shit for a few songs and I was told not to play that! (I actually don't really like playing it out lol) but recovered and came back to Miami Bass again :) SORRY 55 South!! lol

A lot of people came up to me giving me props for my set which meant a lot to me! 

Anyway, hope you all enjoy this set as much as I did! Looking forward to spinning here again soon!!
