Almost exactly a year since fellow De Lichting co-founder RDS made his Kalahari debut, Eversines returns to the label in a big way. But this is the Dutchman like you’ve never heard him before; tough and direct, coming through with a mean streak of sci-fi propulsion that leaves the sanguine reflections of releases past in its wake. 

We’re flexing attitude from the off. Almost reminiscent of something I-F might have cooked up back in the day, ‘Gaze’ might reference Detroit, but there’s also something decidedly Dutch about it. There is, however, no mistaking the Motor City influences on ‘Fast Fall’. Jacking, Detroit-inspired gear, it most closely resembles the introspection of previous Eversines releases.

On the flip, where ‘Affection Towards The Urban Environment’ lights up neural pathways with some seriously spannered, acid-fuelled electro-techno, ‘Wavedash’ rounds things off with another nod to the American Midwest. Tensile-strength, hi-tek machine funk that’s retro-tinted without ever resorting to pastiche.

After a long break, Rancel returns, unleashing the vibes on the inaugural vinyl release that packs the third chapter of the Spooky Wave series.

This creation takes inspiration from the risky waves at El Frontón, a famous spot for big waves in Gran Canaria. At first glance, you can see the impressive challenge of riding those huge monsters. However, when Rancel jumped right into the bodyboarding session, he discovered something even more fascinating. – the experience of duckdiving (going under) those massive waves. It brought unique underwater sounds, a mix of tension and adrenaline, and the calm feeling after a session that felt almost life-threatening. The result? A 4-Track EP that captures the intensity and high quality of this remarkable journey.

Jacopo Latini and Giammarco Orsini continue the Data Memory Access trajectory with the second outing on their eponymous label. Jacopo flies solo for this release, showcasing his innovative sound across four essential cuts within the “Echoes Of Tomorrow” EP. Gritty yet futuristic energy throughout, creating a beautiful balance between genres, teasing elements of techno, and electro, but still keeping the depth and emotion Latini’s productions have become synonymous with. Wandering between the distinctive and hypnotic moods of “Time Is Up” and the sought after “Nightfall”, in addition to the transcending yet punchy atmospheres of “Otherside” and “Electric Edge”.
This classy exploration from the Italian producer follows on from what has been a bright few years for Jacopo, as he has found himself sharing his music on a diverse selection of labels including Mood Waves (solo and as DMA), Innershades’ Altered Circuit, and as Data Memory Access, labels such as UK favourite, Craigie Knowes.
