One of the five pieces from the late 14th century British manuscript that also contained the famous round "Sumer is icumin in." The piece is untitled, as well as anonymous, but it's in the style of the medieval dance known as a saltarello, so that's we're calling it.

Our instruments are Renaissance recorder and tenor viola da gamba, and our repertoire includes duets from the 13th through 16th centuries--simple but beautiful music. We've named ourselves after a piece that we play: Il Grillo (The Cricket), a fantasia/fantasies/fantasy by Thomas Morley published in 1595.
