Nickodemus' last album "A Long Engagement" was released May 2018 and made its way around the World’s listening devices & dancefloors via dj’s and an extensive tour. Now he's back with a remix album that takes the original recordings back into the clubs with slow rolling remixes from both Chancha Via Circuito & Lagartijeando as well as soulful house mixes from DJ Spinna, Pablo Sanchez & Sammy Bananas. Bosq (Whiskey Barons) takes his mix of “Livin' Your Dream” to heavy afro-reggae disco, while Sagaan (Andreas Saag) pushes “The Crow” into deep Detroit analog territories. Also weighing in are Umoja, who strip down “Mystic Molay” featuring Innov Gnawa, and The Spy from Cairo, with a cosmic electro-disco version of “Inmortales” featuring Fémina. The overall global fusion that Nickodemus is known for was taken to another level into the clubs by these carefully chosen producers.

@Burkamina aka Mia was connected to us via our good friend @Meraki. She is from Sao Paolo and has been one of the leading figures in the brasilian scene in the last few years. When we asked her to contribute a track to our first Vinyl, she send us two tracks and we had a hard time choosing which one to include. So we agreed with her to put one on the vinyl and release the other one online in combination with a remix by Meraki.

Mia Lunis | Burkamina  - Aquaria

Cuatro temas inspirado en la lucha social chilena, para marcar el 26 de Abril, 2020, que era la fecha del plebiscito nacional (aplazada por el gobierno hasta Octubre).

'La Quitapenas' y 'Danza de La Dignidad' se basen en grabaciones de campo de manifestaciones en Santiago.  'La Quitapenas' incluye un fragmento de la canción 'Arauco tiene una Pena', de Violeta Parra, interpretada por un grupo musical callejero de mujeres. 

'Alimentar al Pueblo' viene de un trabajo en Valparaiso con el artista Leonel Vasquez, que resultó en su pieza 'Tierras del Mar'. Las entrevistas y grabaciones de pescadores artesanales eran realizadas por Leonel durante la creación de su pieza.  El canto es una canción del pescador Hernan Espinosa, interpretada por su hijo Luis Espinosa.

'Balas de Washington' es un rework del tema 'Washington Bullets', de The Clash.  Incluye un sample del senador estadounidense Bernie Sanders hablando sobre el papel que jugó Estados Unidos en el golpe de estado chileno en los 70.

Four songs inspired by the social movement in Chile, marking the 26th of April, which should have been the national vote for a new constitution (postponed by the government until October)

'La Quitapenas' y 'Danza de la Dignidad' are based in field recordings from protests in Santiago.  'La Quitapenas' includes a fragment of a song by the legendary folk singer Violeta Parra, 'Arauco tiene una pena', as performed by an all-woman street brass band.

'Alimentar al Pueblo' comes from work with the artist Leonel Vasquez in Valparaiso, which resulted in his project 'Tierras del Mar'. He took these recordings of artisanal fisherman.  The vocal song is a composition of the fisherman Hernan Espinosa, interpreted by his son Luis Espinosa.

'Balas de Washington' is a rework of the song 'Washington Bullets' of The Clash.  It includes a sample of the us senator Bernie Sanders speaking about the role of the US in the military coup that overthrew the democratically elected president of Chile in the 70s.
