ilirea - Friday Techno Session

I know it's late, very late, but here it is. My top10 of 2018. Filled with tracks that were my favs last year and a small description to each.

10 RAM - Circle Of Life (Amir Hussain remix)
Such a well made remix by Amir. Huge fan of the break and even more of the melody. Banging uplifting trance at its best. Simply put.

09 Type 41 vs XiJaro & Pitch - Night Is Calling (Kiyoi & Eky remix)
Was early one of my favs for winning last year. Huge fan of Kiyoi & Eky's style, especially this kind. Driving intro, a break that's just beautiful and a boss melody that still gives me shivers. Keep this style going!

08 Second Sine - Revolt (UCast remix)
One of my absolute favourites last summer. Ucast has been a front figure for tech trance the past year or two and this track is one of the best examples of how good tech trance is made. Well produced remix and that melody. Hooooly...

07 Talla 2XLC - Silesia (Original mix)
I would say one of the more underrated tracks of 2018 if you ask me. I might not have been THAT much into new trance the 2nd part of last year as I maybe should, but this track should have been played everywhere imo. So many times. What a fucking melody. Realized how good this track actually is when finding tunes for this top 10 mix. Amazing.

06 Martin Libsen - Beyond The Stars (Original mix)
There's always something special about Libsen's tracks. The orchestral and emotional trance is really one of the parts I love the most with trance. When Libsen releases tracks of them usually is on my top10 that year, and this is no different. Piano break is lovely as always and the melody is as always, on point!

05 Metta & Glyde - Past Tense (Original mix)
I know they have been in the scene for a couple of year, but this track is the one that made me discover them. All thanks to Tyas' Degenerate Radio show. Also one of my favs last summer. Brilliantly build up track with so many elements. Break is nice and I absolutely love the way the melody is build up and goes. 

04 Alex Di Stefano - My Shadow (Original mix)
Along with the #1 on the top10 this one was one of my real favs of 2018. I have loved Stefano's style since pretty much the first track I heard and this is my fav I think. Driving track that never really stops going. The build up to the melody is so fucking boss that it's hard to explain. It's like, you think that's the melody, but then it hits you even harder. Love it. And Alex, keep those melodies going even after the climaxes, please!

03 Will Atkinson - Seventh Heaven (Original mix)
What is it to say about Atkinson that haven't been said yet? Dunno, but diversity, groundbreaking and unique really is my best descriptions. This track really blew my mind then I first heard it. It's like it's two different tracks in one with the 2nd break where the real melody comes. A track you can sit down with a pint, listen to and let your thoughts fly away. A track I loved to surprise my friends with that hadn't heard it before. Nothing like it today.

02 The Noble Six - Black Star (Original mix)
One of my best moments of LumiBeach17 was with this one. Seeing The Noble Six was a dream and when he droped the Astral remix of Cloudwalking (a track I thought I never would hear live ever) I thought this was the best moment, but what came after blew my mind. It was this track. A new track that really gave me vibes of the old style of trance I really love, with a modern twist. Listening to this still gives me some massive goosebumps.

01 Xijaro & Pitch - Amor Vincit Omnia (Original mix)
What is uplifting  trance for me? Just listen to this track and you have the answer. Driving and banging af. The break of prob one of the bst last year and the melody is... well... perfect. Nothing more to say really. Was mind blown then I first heard it and I love it just as much today after way over 200 plays (or even more) than as the first time I heard it. Worthy #1 finish. Keep it going guys. You have my biggest respect!
