Longtime tri-state area rap bully Ran Reed is here to let every damn wack rapper in earshot know that their days are numbered on his infectious new banger, “Pathetic M.C.s.” And because his harsh words apparently weren’t enough to drive that point home, he enlisted one of Hip-Hop’s biggest bruisers, Long Island’s Bumpy Knuckles, for a guest feature. 

As you may expect, the two complement each other perfectly on here as they trade verses overflowing with tough talk and bravado. That goes for whether Bumpy’s spitting hilarious lines about being the “U.S.S. O.G.,” or Reed is taking down his opponents at the start with: “Rappers ain’t rappin’ no more, they straight mumblin’/ Give them a year, their career start crumblin’.”

Not to be outdone, Reed also produced the snarling, sample-flipping instrumental for “Pathetic M.C.s,” which was inspired both sonically and conceptually from Ultramagnetic MC’s time honored classic, “Ego Trippin’.” You can expect to hear more cuts like this on Reed’s heavily anticipated new release, 'Still Commanding Respect.'

“Pathetic M.C.s” can now be streamed, and is available for download as the third and final instant grat track off the iTunes pre-order for 'Still Commanding Respect,' which drops this Friday. The LP includes features from Kool G Rap, M.O.P. Bumpy Knuckles, Sadat X, and U.G. among others, and will also be available for purchase on CD, exclusively through Fifth Element.

On his second single with producer BP, Queensbridge rap legend Tragedy Khadafi airs out his beef with Marley Marl and vividly details how it all unfolded on “Story Never Told.”

Trag sets the tone over BP’s raw and dusty instrumental about the time that he and his idol were on a road trip from Queensbridge to DC. It was during this trip where he first dropped the idea of getting behind a young talented group of emcees he wanted to call the Lords of the Underground. Marl seemed dismissive, though it may have all been a front.

You see, when Trag got back to Queens after a trip to the West Coast, he found that LOTUG had formed as Marl’s “own idea.” Not only that, but as Trag explains on the 2nd verse, he was the only guest artist not featured on the artwork for Marl’s ‘88 release, 'In Control'—despite the fact Trag appeared on two singles (under his former moniker, Percy Tragedy).

With this all in mind, you’d think Trag would be salty, right? Nah. As he spits so eloquently about all the drama, “On the flip side, it only really boost my strength/ Gave me more confidence so I could go the whole length/ For my mentor to take an idea from me/ Only means my vision is that of impeccable G.” 

“Story Never Told” is the 2nd instant grat track off 'Immortal Titans,' which is available now for pre-order on CD and vinyl, and through iTunes, Amazon Music, Bandcamp and Google Play. With a slew of vintage gear and over 8,000 records in his arsenal, New Jersey-based Hip-Hop producer/multi-instrumentalist Ill Tal has been churning out beats since the late 90’s. Utilizing many of the same techniques used by the legends of the Golden Era, Ill Tal has managed to capture a sound that many fans miss, while still remaining fresh to the listener.

Ill Tal grew up in northern New Jersey, just outside of New York City. He became an avid hip-hop fan at the age of 9 and started producing his first songs in 1997, for local artists in the area.

After a brief stint working at a Latin record label in the early 2000’s, he decided to pursue producing professionally. He has worked with several notable artists including U-God (of Wu-Tang), Prodigy (Mobb Deep), Craig G (Juice Crew), Rim (Duck Down Records), The Illz, and several underground artists.

Most recently, he’s transitioned away from sample-based music and now plays piano, multiple synthesizers and guitar. While he now focuses on instrumentals and soundscapes/soundtracks, he still works with artists who value Hip-Hop culture.
