We've been sitting on this instant sound-system regular for some time now. After doing the rounds in the bass scene we're ready to bring out our 8th EP on Sudo, and what a banger it is. 

Think 140 meets UK Bass with Delta's distinct imprint heard on each track. Zappy basslines and big-rig sounds are Deltas speciality. With releases from Delta on Swampstep, FKOF, Infernal Sounds (to name a few) and regular DeepTempo features, this isn't one to sleep on...

Delta - U Kno

Label boss @mrtmrsound finally makes his debut on Soil and Sound with the label's fourteenth 10" instalment.

Side A sees a collaboration with sitarist @tommy-khosla in a deep dub style. The sitar lead-line sings above a spaced-out heavy dub groove, making for a big mediative mood on the track.

Side B switches up the style, although the 130BPM tempo remains the same. This one comes in with a dark and industrial soundscape with large metallic stabs and a lamenting piano line.

All records are hand-cut by The Cut House onto 10” transparent plates. Housed in hand-stamped disco sleeves and protected by a PVC outer sleeve.

Producer and DJ duo MA BARKA are George Smith-Kolff and Dylan Guthrie-Wickens from Christchurch, New Zealand.

Making music for little over two years, they are primarily focused on making and playing bass driven party music with a large atmosphere and a lot of sub, made to be played on huge sound systems.

Ma Barka have recent releases on Locus Sound, Fat Kid on Fire, and Norman Foreman, with more to come in the near future.

// MIDNIGHT DUBS
Paul aka Midnight Dubs has been a fixture on the NZ music scene since 1999, when he released his first debut EP as Confucius. Collabing with his brother Damien on DnB as the duo CMD, and dubstep as Joint Forces, these lads had digital and vinyl releases throughout the 2000s and early 2010s.

It was around 2000 that Paul also teamed up with Gabriel Calcott, aka Messenjah, to form the reggae & dancehall production duo known as Reality Chant, who have worked with such artists as Luciano, Jah Mason, Mykal Rose, Cornell Campbell, Earl Sixteen and many others.

"In recent years, Midnight Dubs has had multiple dubwize and jungle releases with Melbourne based Christchurch lad LQ on Echo Chamber, Lickshot and other labels. He has featured on many Echo Chamber and Run It Red releases, one of the most recent being the Echo Chamber x Run It Red double 12”.
In the past, Midnight Dubs has supported a raft of artists, including Jackie Murda (Chopstick Dubplate), Aphrodite, Maldini & Vegas, Kora, and many others. His selection of exclusive Jungle and Dubwize tunes means that you will always be experiencing something fresh, and something you have never heard before..."
