The party formed the roots of what would eventually become the beloved nightspot @nowadaysnyc, a “by us, for us” club that’s become a community hub for NYC’s nightlifers. Following the release of a sprawling box-set to mark the party’s 15th anniversary, Harkin, Carter and a few of the compilation’s featured artists filled us in on what makes Mister Saturday Night so special.

She'll kill it with an hour of bangers, or take you on a five-hour journey into sound.

ILLEXXANDRA co-founded Tropic of Bass in Washington, DC, now entering its 8th year. She has been a resident DJ at Vitamin B, New York's long-running breakbeat party, and at the McKittrick Hotel with Inyang Bassey and the all-star Heathens band. Illexxandra is one half of the production duo Empire Breaks with DJ Shakey, and one half of Ajazent with TGRbass. . She is also a resident of the infamous and long-running Rubulad party, an enthusiastic co-conspirator with the Party Liberation Front (PLF) in Richmond, VA, and a long-time DJ and production staff at Burning Man Information Radio.
