Already establishing himself as a clear cut favourite amongst heads and listeners across the scene, DJ Mxnic channels the spirit of bassline past with his tasty bootleg of Gorgon City’s ‘Nobody’.

Retaining the track’s standout catchiness, Mxnic’s latest entry is a potent spring sizzler with dancy basslines, 4x4 energy and a generous helping of emotive vocals courtesy of the original, showing that it’s possible to rep old school flavours with new school energy.

A luminary in the surging Russian bass music scene, baadwrk is known for his mastery of the harder end of dance, boasting notable releases on Sheffield’s Chip Butty Records as well as Sight By Sight, Russia’s standout bass music record label.

‘Inspire’ pays homage to a number of baadwrk’s dub, reggae and bass influences, serving as a euphoric ode to the excitement of the coming festival season. Its soaring buildups, tuneful drops and reverb washed vocals would be at home on any big stage, and with the 21st of June on the horizon, it appears we won’t have to wait too long.

Baadwrk - Inspire

As one of the scene’s underground heroes, LilMilly has earned his plaudits through old school nastiness and production chops. Early collaborations with scene legend DJ Pantha, SG and Breeza earmarked the emerging talent for success and, after some time refining his craft, the West Midlands returned with ‘Bumbafunk’—an EP whose eponymous track became an instant scene classic. 

Milly’s return to form with his bootleg of ‘Tonight’ should come as no surprise, then. Densely packed basslines dance over weighty drums and rolling arps, with the action neatly broken up by the melancholia of the original sample.

With the possibility of dance music spaces reopening well within reach, there’s no better time for one of the Midlands’ finest to return to form.

Flexing veteran status and his laser-precision on the ones and twos, Freddo’s offering is chock-full of dubs, 4x4 bangers and catchy vocal cuts, making the hour plus of runtime much too short for our liking. 

Staying true to our mission to showcase the best in underground bass music, we’ve been eager to drop this one ever since we first heard it!

Going from strength-to-strength in lockdown, the Leicester resident has generously poured his 20+ years of experience into this blistering mix, showcasing his extensive catalogue of gully wobblers and his ear for marrying old and new-school sounds.
