As smeyeul's portfolio expands in number, so does his sound grow in complexity. His new album Always Temporary houses sounds of warm jazz guitar, ambient fuzz, reverberated Rhodes piano, and the signature vibrophonic melodies known to smeyeul since his beginning. Many of the tracks here have a noticeable swing to them as well, making these newly released tracks seem as familiar as a crate of old vinyl records. Above all else, this project varies most in energy: "always" plays at a slow, contemplative pace, while "zzz" increases the rpm with a boom-bap drum set layered over some hard hitting piano keys. Always Temporary is a collection of tracks encouraging the listener to journey into questioning, oneself and the world around them and thinking as if things will always be temporary. As this is Smeyeul's third full length album, you are sure to be exposed to the solitude and beauty of these sounds.
