With two original tracks, Martin presents 'Rockin Beatz EP' that opens up with
the track naming the EP, in which Ikin starts building the energy with a drum progression with little more than a few FX and vocals on top, to then break into a danceable and groovy track, with a lot of focus around the vocal treatment along the track.

After, we have 'PWR (Original Mix)', a track in which Martin starts with a simple yet catchy drum progression, before breaking into a soulful, techy madness with a clear inspiration on the 90's sounds and vocals. The song maintains its momentum until the end, making this a really powerful track for any time in the floor.

All in all, another great discovery by elrow Music's team, that now becomes part of the big family! Stay tuned this August, as we're about to drop a big one!

Dutch-Caribbean stars Shermanology debut on Hot Creations with the tremendous three-track Bon Bini EP. The release continues an outstanding 2020 for the brother-sister pairing, which has seen them collaborate with The Martinez Brothers already this year.

The title track, Bon Bini, kicks off proceedings in a no-nonsense fashion, as a pumping lead kick merges with latin-inspired vocal cuts. The lengthy breakdown builds a party atmosphere, as rustling hats provide an up-tempo feel. OK - Cool - Aight feat. ConQuer Jones comes next, with its uplifting piano rolls and wonderful vocal solo courtesy of the lead vocalist who tells us to “make the best of what life has to offer.” Breathe feat. Agent Sasco rounds off the EP. A straight-up club cut, the kick-hat blend is irresistibly danceable, building on an underlying bassline that features Agent Sasco’s whispering lyrics underneath.

Hailing from the beautiful Dutch-Carribean island of Curacao, brother-and-sister duo Shermanology have become one of electronic music’s most well-loved and well-known pairings releasing on the likes of Defected and Dirtybird. This year marked a pivotal milestone in their career as they collaborated with The Martinez Brothers on the incredible Bam Bam. I was given the opportunity to learn to spin actual vinyl records from the legendary icon, Ben Man of the Basement in Louisville, KY (The Basement in Better Days Record shop was the place to go for dance music on vinyl). Saturdays, I performed live on 1080AM WDJX, as well as spinning turntable delights every Friday thru Sunday until 4am at Louisville's only eccentric underground industrial gay club, where all were welcomed, called Sparks.
The turntables would explode and the crowd would go wild on the dance floor, at times wearing only undies or nothing at all! That was Louisville, KY in the '90s! It took much personal resistance to begin dropping digital nuggets instead of vinyl toys; but now I'm loving life, mixing records (not so much on vinyl) anywhere I can get my hands on a turn table--well, uh, a computer and a zip drive! I call my music "high energy girlfriend music with an edge." I'm not a fan of too many lyrics but cream over a diva belting on a track in a minor key.
