PFG The Progcast Episode 15 - Samuel Lamont (303/909 Resident)

After finding dance music in his late teenage years, DJ Samer aka Samer Salhab, moved from his hometown of Gainesville, Florida for Tampa. Already a talented DJ, he quickly assimilated into the local scene despite the music de jour being more breaks-lead. Tampa was awash with opportunity, and after a chance meeting in a local record shop, Samer and local celebrity Bill Vines (The Maji) 
decided to work together creating Pangea Recordings and DJing and producing as Evrydaydowners. Success followed with gigs and international DJs charting their music, but soon Samer looked to move beyond his home state towards the bright lights of Southern California. Moving to San Diego in 2002 was the making of Samer and soon he found himself DJing alongside some of the countries best DJs and increasing the brand identity of Pangea Recordings. Finally taking the label global with the help of certain well placed A-list DJs charting and playing his music, Samer took the opportunity to play to much larger crowds and premier locations and touring worldwide. Now signed to a host of internationally recognised labels, DJ Samer shows no signs of slowing down, indeed, with such a wealth of experience, he’s just hitting his stride.

PFG PROGCAST - Episode 17 - DJ Samer

Hello and welcome to PFG The Progcast, our weekly trek across Planet Progressive.

We've not far to travel this week, just a short hop across the border to Northern Ireland as we hook up with UBIK Resident GWOA!

GWOA fell in love with dance music at the age of 16 in his home town of Antrim N Ireland. He spent night and day immersed in his idols Paul Oakenfold, Nick Warren, Sasha, Digweed and Sander Kleinenberg - and 24 years later not much has changed for him.

GWOA's love of Trance and Progressive cut the way into the gigging the club scene in the late 90's and early 2000s. His popularity and recognition grew leading to him gigs across the UK and Ibiza but focusing in N Ireland he began organising and gigging the hugely successful "Audio Asylum" which incorporated underground parties, nights and outdoor raves. Following on from this music scene GWOA co-founded the 'Ubik' club night, hosting international and local DJ's across N Ireland's top clubs.

Over the past few years GWOA's love for Progressive has seen him move to the studio and behind the production desk. Working with various local talent he has produced a range of prog tunes, of which will be released over the next year.

This week see's us head back to the Club Capital of the north of England, Liverpool. This exciting, upcoming DJ, influenced by those heady nights at Cream mid 90's, has immersed himself into the scene in recent years. He's been creating and developing his own podcast and impressing at local events, like the monthly 303 show. COVID-19 may have halted his progress this year, but take it from us, DJ sets like this  mean NO pandemic will be able to stop him! PFG The Progcast- Episode 19 Mark McDonald

Hello, and welcome back to PFG The Progcast, our weekly trek around Planet Prog, unearthing the finest and exclusive new music we can. This weeks mix comes from a Northern Irish Legend, top class DJ and renowned Electronic Music Producer. Respected by his peers and loved everywhere from Belfast to Berlin, there's not too many DJs who can boast a CV with as much experience as him. It is our absolute honour to have him on board, after impressing on our joint Ubik/PFG Prog sessions a little while ago. Ladies and Gents... Chris Cargo!!


Chris Cargo started his production career in the late 1990s, and has been at the forefront within the electronic music scene ever since. During that time and the early start to the new century Chris released a wealth of gems on seminal Progressive House labels: Choo Choo, Renaissance, Automatic Records, Whoop, Armada Music and Kosmo as well as an original artist album.  Chris has always gained consistent support for his many varied club releases from DJ giants such as Digweed, Cox, Cattaneo, Howells, Lawler, Warren and Getc. 

Chris's skills behind the decks has seen him tour with revered Prog imprint Renaissance, many of which have seen Chris ply his wares on several large scale events around China, USA, Russia and South America.  As a DJ, Chris has travelled the world wowing the crowds in Shanghai to Zurich, Amsterdam to Moscow, Kuala Lumpur to Paris docking in over 40 countries along the way including Siberia, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Finland, France, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Malaysia, China, Mexico. 

In addition, his music has appeared on many compilations such as Renaissance, Intec, Seb Fontaine, Danny Howells, Valentino Kanzyani, Anthony Pappa, Slinky, Priviledge-Ibiza, Global Underground and has had major BBC Radio 1 plays and multiple reviews in publications such as Mixmag & DJ Magazine. Back in the groove after a short hiatus Chris has returned to his seminal roots with a host of new productions labels such as The Soundgarden, Plattenbank, FSOE UV, Beat Boutique, OneDotSixTwo, Soundteller Recordings, Sprout Music, Fall From Grace, Mango Alley and his very own If You Wait imprint to name just a few.  

Slipping back into production life as if he had never been away it’s easy to see why his return has seen him described as one of the “Genres Original Innovators” by Progressive Astronaut, a “Pioneer of Progressive House” by Change Underground and “Legend” by Release Promo.  With hard work, passion and support from the industry's most revered names, Chris Cargo has some unfinished business and aims to prove that this pillar of the Progressive House scene is back for good.

PFG The Progcast  Episode 20 - Chris Cargo

Hello, and welcome back to PFG's Progcast, our weekly trek around Planet Progressive. This week we are back in Brazil, and our second visit finds us searching for new, raw DJ talent that PFG have always been looking for. A group member found him commenting away on a recent live stream and invited him into the group, fast forward a few months, we're extremely proud to give him the stage his talents deserve. Crew, give it up... for M. Beltrame!!

I'm Matheus, a 24-year-old DJ from Curitiba, a southern city between São Paulo (the epicentre of the electronic music scene in Brazil) and Itajaí, where Warung (The Temple) sits. Curitiba has also held great events throughout the year: Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha & John Digweed, Guy Mantzur, Lee Burridge, Lost Desert and many others have played here.

This love I have now for electronic music started in my teenage days, but actually with Hip-Hop. When in middle school, Hip-Hop was my thing, but because I didn't really understand what was being said, the sonority of the beats combined with the rapper's flow was what really got my attention. A couple of years later, Dubstep came along. It was my initiation into electronic music (I swear it sounded cool at the time).

A few years later, a cheap, commercially-orientated deep house genre began to rise in our scene, that was called "Brazilian bass". I loved it. That powerful, leading bass that I had in Hip-Hop and Trap, missing in Dubstep, was back. I guess that was around 2014. That was also really danceable, which I loved. Expressing myself with the body, listening to cool music and having fun with friends was a big, instant positive for me.

Fast forward a few years to 2017 I finally had contact with high level electronic music. It was during the Warung Day Festival, which happens every year in my hometown. When my ears heard Stephan Bodzin for the first time, I was shocked. After him, the legend Hernan Cattaneo took to the decks and my musical taste was changed forever. Progressive House quickly became my favourite genre.

My DJing experience has only been for fun with my friends in house parties. I learned to play with them (we are all self-taught). Together we form a collective called Showcara Records, you can check out our sounds here

PFG Progcast Episode 21 - M. Beltrame

Hello and welcome back to PFG The Progcast, our weekly trek around the world of Planet Prog. This week we begin a monthly tour of the British Isles, taking in established acts and more new talent along the way. starting with this multi talented DJ/Producer combination. Ladies and Gents PFG are proud to introduce.... CYBERNALIA!!

Cybernalia are Arkis Elwood (42) and Bryan Corr (40) from Bangor Co.Down Northern Ireland. Both Arkis and Bryan been involved in the Northern Irish Dance scene for over 25 years , Djing in most of the Province's clubs since the early 1990's.
The Duo began producing their own music in 2010 which ranges from House/Progressive/Techno through to Indie. They made their production debut in 2011 on Baroque Records with their first EP 'Pictures/Blind Faith'. Since then they have gone on to release over 100 Original Tracks and Remixes on Labels such as Stellar Fountain , Suffused Music , Sounds Of Juan , Baroque , Electronic Tree , Rimoshee , Groove Life Records and the Mainstay of their material with the renowned Stripped Muzik Management brand where in 2018 Stripped Recordings released Cybernalia's first full 16 Track Studio Album titled 'Little Heroes' which went Top 10 across many genres on all major platforms.

 The following year Cybernalia independently released their latest Album 'Poisoned April' , a massive 50 track offering containing a full spectrum of their musical genres from Chillout through to Techno which can be obtained through their Soundcloud page.

Currently the pair are focused on creating their own local events under the mantle of 'Cybernalia Presents' concentrating in their hometown of Bangor Northern Ireland with very successful  nights in the Rabbit Rooms and a continual booking of dates currently with the Hop House. They base their events on an intimate style club night focusing on a music policy of House & Techno and a dedicated following increases with every event.

Well known for its hedonistic attitude in the 90's Leeds has produced many a superstar DJ and Producer, and our next act needs little introduction. Blue Amazon is a name that has been associated with quality over the years, with a number of classics including... PFG The Progcast - Episode 23 Blue Amazon

Formed in 2018 by a group of friends with years of passion for an industry that has shaped so much of our culture and lives.

The beginning came when ARRVL literally set sail, as our first appearance as a brand came in the form of a board party on the iconic Thames in our capital.

Since then we have gone on to deliver regular events in all corners in London and being recognised as a welcoming, friendly and fun underground brand, who believes in the power of diverse rave lovers coming together to enjoy everything that is beautiful and powerful in electronic music culture.

What we do...

Our Events in London have been the platform for which the brand has grown from. We believe in intimate environments and lower capacity venues, where artists can really connect with their audience. We like to centre the nights around one major guest and have been lucky to have some incredible talent join us, including Death On The Balcony, Quivver, Joseph Ashworth, Luke Branaccio, Anii, Lorraine Roar and KatrinKa. 

We host a Monthly radio show on Bloop London Radio, showcasing our residents alongside guest artists, a platform to play the music they love, past present and new. Our shows multi-stream Live across all online channels.

Our regular Podcast Series is building a following in itself. We invite an artist  from the underground scene to produce a curated mix which showcases their sound, taking listeners on a journey and giving an insight into the music that they love.

PFG-The Progcast Episode 25 Fraser Dootson (SuperLuminal)

Hello and welcome back to PFG -The Progcast, our exclusive weekly travelogue exploring the world of Planet Prog.

Continuing on our mini break around the British Isles, we head north of the border to our first trip into Scotland, and her capital Edinburgh. We searched long and hard to find a DJ to represent his country WITHOUT turning to a big name, and we're happy to announce we think you'll agree with our selection. Popular amongst the many groups, podcasts and online stations that he plays for, PFG are proud to present.... Stevie Reid!

I've always had an interest in dark electronic music when growing up, but I think it was seeing Leftfield live in 1996 which set me on the path to the dark progressive house that I love. My first interest in DJing didn’t arrive until 2006, but it quickly became an obsession that has never left me.

Come 2010 I was playing regularly at Edinburgh club night Karnival, and thanks to my friend, Kev Wright  (producer and veteran of the Edinburgh club scene) I was able to get involved in some production, seeing several tracks released together.

After a few years feeling disconnected from the scene, I resumed recording mixes regularly in 2016, and never looked back. In the last three years I’ve been fortunate enough to have my entry to a mix competition picked out by Quivver, appear on Gai Barone’s Patterns show, do guest mixes for Saturo Sounds and 21C Progressive House, and play a gig in New York with two of my closest friends.

 After an initial guest mix for Progressive House UK, they asked me to become  resident with them. I find it incredibly exciting to have a platform on which to create mixes every month, alongside other great DJ's.

I am truly honoured to have been asked to put a mix together for PFG's Progcast, its such an amazing group and I really hope you enjoy the mix. If you do, you can find more of mine at:

PFG The Progcast - Episode 26 - Stevie Reid

Hello, and welcome back to another Episode of our exclusive weekly Progcast, seeking out and finding the very best DJ's around Planet Prog..

This week see's us cross off not only a new country, but a brand new continent too, and our DJ this week is no stranger to our scene. One of Origin Presents brightest stars, and a great friend to all who know her.... Ladies and Gents, Nadia!!

Scottish born, DJ Nadia grew up in sunny Algeria, where her interest in music started and as she practised her art, she became heavily involved in the local scene. Over the last 15 years, ever since she embarked on her musical journey, she crafted her DJ skills and is no stranger to the Progressive house arena, her style of Djing has been influenced by the legends; Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Nick Warren and Sasha & Digweed to name a few, and brings us unrivalled pure progressive house vibes. 

Nadia has been based in the UK for the last 2 years, playing alongside great names such as Kasper Koman, Budakid, Paul Hazendonk, Alfonso Muchacho, Moshic, GMJ & Matter and Habischman at amazing events run by the likes of Modern Agenda, the Prog Lab & Progressive Astronaut …all of this without forgetting her active contribution to the Algerian local scene. PFG The Progcast -  Episode 16 -Nick Gartland

Hello people! Good morning and welcome back to another PFG Progcast, our luxurious trip around the world of progressive beats....

Today, we enter 'The Land Of Our Fathers', Wales, and the birthplace of probably the greatest DJ our scene has produced. During our extended trip around the British Isles we've found that it's not always the big names in the bright lights that delivers the goods, its that burgeoning raw talent that does the job as well as if not better than those headliners. Today's DJ is no exception, Ladies & Gents Ryan Thomson!

It was finding a John Digweed essential mix way back in the 90’s that triggered Ryan’s obsession with underground music... After discovering Sasha & Digweeds Northern Exposure everything changed, and Ryan was hooked.

Having moved to and lived in Berlin for 9 years, Ryan was quickly drawn in to the amazing party life and became drawn to the Techno and Progressive styles of mixing, while not being pigeonholed by genre. He enjoys playing extended melodic sets inspired by DJ’s like John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha and Anthony Pappa.

Ryan has played across a number of venues in Germany whilst living there and back home including a set in London’s Pacha. He also regularly gets asked to play on London's Insanity Radio. His biggest gig to date would see him playing for Back to Mine in Birmingham, supporting Nick Muir, Stelios Vasiloudis, Luke Brancaccio and Dave Angel.

A proud supporter of local producers, from his passion of helping support smaller names, Ryan's 'Foundation Underground Music' Page was created on Twitter.

July 2020 saw Ryan releasing back on German Techno imprint Toolfunk Recordings with his latest track, and November 2020 will see Ryan and his best friend, Karl Lovesey release their debut 2 track EP on Neil Preedy’s label, i Occupy Music.

Hello and welcome aboard our weekly journey around Planet Prog, and another exclusive PFG Progcast!

Today we depart for our third new country in a row as our search for the very best music in our scene touches down in Russia. It is with love we are proud to present, exclusively for PFG... Olga Misty!

Olga first discovered her love for electronic music during her later school days, a simple passion that naturally evolved into the foundations for her journey into DJ'ing from 2008. Olga prefers emotional and heart touching music, with the rich & colourful tones of deeper progressive house at the core of her mixes & style. 

Since 2011 Olga has run her own successful Radio show known as "Ocean Planet" which has been broadcast to a loyal & constantly growing audience across the globe on Proton Radio and DI FM. 

For more than 8 years many talented guests have joined the show, including Dmitry Molosh, GMJ, Subandrio, Dimuth K, Erich Von Kollar, Ewan Rill, East Cafe,Yuriy From Russia, LoQuai, Cream, Deep Fog, Robert R. Hardy, Deepsense and many more.
In 2020 Olga's musical reach has widened further with the launch of "Solace" on Frisky Radio, following on from a hugely successful slot on "Artist of the Week". 2020 has seen her come on board as label DJ for Meanwhile Recordings, the new digital label from GMJ & Matter, showcasing the finest in deep and progressive music from around the world. Her Meanwhile mixes are on regular rotation for Proton Radio's Virtua progressive playlist on Spotify.

Olga has performed in many different countries such as her native Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, Netherlands and Australia.  She's played at major events & venues such as ADE, Burning Man, Warpp club, Meanwhile launch & many more, spreading her signature deep, emotive and driving sound.

PFG The Progcast - Episode 29 - Olga Misty

Hello and welcome back to our weekly exclusive podcast, PFG -The Progcast is about to embark on another supersonic search for the finest Progressive beats.

This week we've landed back in the UK, and a DJ well known on all the local scenes he's played in. With a DJ career spanning over 20 years, it is our great pleasure to introduce to you... DAN HILL!

HiLLY started his DJing career at only 16, playing at parties and weddings. But in 1994 he formed SENSi-TiZE, with 2 mates, producing several big Happy Hardcore Tracks, including Burn Baby Burn which featured on Top 40 albums.

But after the first three SENSi-TIZE releases Dan decided to move away from the Hardcore scene as he was becoming more and more influenced by Dj's such as Jeremy Healey, Greame Park, Judge Jules and Tony De Vit. After a chance meeting with Geoff Hawkins then resident DJ at Central Nightclub in Stamford UK. Geoff become a big supporter in Dan's early DJ career helping him obtain his first residency, called Creation @ Central playing uplifting piano house. This soon progressed to an additional Saturday night at Maddisons in Nuneaton. During this time Dan worked along side such names as Liquid, Ratpack, Isha D, Sam Ellis, Yomanda, K-Klass, Brandon Block and Tony De Vit to name a few. Also within this time he guested several times with Geoff at the Ministry of Sound in London playing at the High Bias records launch night and also playing the Seduction House Weekender.

After these early successes Dan moved to the Isle of Man due to work, thankfully the DJ work continued as he linked up with James Gale (DJ Gid) and the Switched On Crew. The dance scene in the IOM was slightly behind the UK and therefore gave the crew the chance to hold more than half a dozen outdoor dance parties. It was like going back to the early 90's rave days with around a 1000 people partying throughout the night under an erected Marquee in the middle of the Manx countryside, prompting Dan to still say now these were probably the best gigs of his career. Unfortunately it wasn't long before Manx law caught on and put an end to these great nights. The scene continued with Switched On and Paul Aldridge promoting nights at the Cave Nightclub. Dan soon found himself gracing the decks with Ricky Rooney and Gid where they were joined by Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, Matt Hardwick, Graham Gold, Nick Rafferty, Lee Burridge and Anthony Pappa.

While out in the IOM Dan was regularly visiting the UK to work on more material with SENSi-TIZE and they were rewarded for their hard work when they were signed up to Tony De Vit's TDV Label. Unfortunately, Tony's sad death had a huge effect on Dan and SENSi-TiZE's progression.

 Following a short break away from the scene, and the UK, after much discussion Dan decided to reform SENSi-TIZE and was also determined to re-launch his DJ career.
Over the last 2 decades Dan has spun turntables in Australia, Dublin, Isle of Man, Tenerife, Ibiza and back in the UK, playing for brands such as Hed Kandi, Minimal, In 2 Deep, Milwaulkees, Ministry Of Sound, Deep Down, Alfresco and Pushin.

Although now semi-retired from djing, he still has a huge passion for music. He mixes house under his real name Dan Hill, Techno under HiLLY, and still plays the odd hardcore and Trance gig as SENSi-TIZE! ENJOY THE MIX!
