ICI MTN is a live performer and producer, member of the Franco-Dutch collective Plor. Through his creations, he develops a hypnotic and melancholic universe with a deep, minimal and hybrid techno aesthetic.

Close to sound creation and electroacoustic music, he maintains a porous link with these influences, which naturally lead him to integrate a sensitive, poetic dimension into his music.

He considers this first release as a very intimate world, in which he has tried to place all the tracks likely to introduce the listener to his meditative vision of dance music.

The intention is to embrace a wide range of aesthetics, such as hypnotic techno, deep percussive rhythms or mental grooves, while focusing on complex atmospheres and textures. It's a notion that brings a lot of sensations as a listener, so he wanted to transcribe them as best as possible in this debut project.

As we approach the hottest days of the year, a fresh mix has arrived here at our charybdical headquarters. It's great to hear the spheres spinning dynamically again, inhabiting a sonic universe of eclectic energies created by the great artist Morian.

With a rich musical background and relatively new to the scene, he fell in love with the world of Deep and Hypnotic Techno pretty quickly. His talent for building diverse sets with real storytelling qualities did not go unnoticed as he got the chance to create podcasts for many well-known institutions such as Anodynic Frequencies, On the 5th Day, CellarDoor, Melifera, Kvlto Records or Fur:ther Sessions. As a long-time and active supporter of Charybdis, we are of course happy to give him the chance to deliver a mix for our ‘Dynamic Spheres’ podcast series and let him unfold his musical qualities in front of your ears.

Morian's 130bpm mix blends different colours of hypnotism, from dark and eerie to light-flooded and playful, from groovy-psychedelic to spherical and dubby. All this with a cosmic, narrative undertone that couldn't be better suited to teleport you into his very own universe of sound.

Jamie de Rooy and Labyrinthine played in perfect synergy for a 2 hour back2back on our February show!

Labyrinthine is a Poland born and London based DJ/producer. He is also co-owner of Crescent London, a label that has become synonymous with deep and hypnotic techno. Firmly embedded in the London community and beyond, his DJ sets are a journey through exquisite soundscapes; a field of energy and drive mixing depth, darkness and light.

A known figure in London and a dynamic supporter of the UK scene, he has been regularly hosting events across the city over the years, as well as in Berlin and Manchester. His sound recently took him to the infamous About Blank in Berlin and Womb in Tokyo.

Jamie de Rooy was born near Manchester and has been London based for many years. He has played events as far-flung as Reykjavik, Iceland, equatorial Brazil and Tbilisi, Georgia. In 2012, in London, he began the weekly afterhours event series Wrong, always focusing on giving a platform to new talent. 

Jamie’s musical style ranges from heartbreaking, transcendent, ambient infused opening sets, through deep, into dark, hypnotic and strident raw techno. Always uncompromising, he steers well clear of gimmicks, allowing the music to speak for itself through careful track selection and intelligent transitions, both of which are designed to surprise, whilst building a set that works as a whole.
