When Isa Gordon sent the demo of this album to me, I knew I wanted to release it before I had got half way through it. I had previously released her super good Resili collaborative project, but I wasn’t quite prepared for how good this was going to be. Isa is patently a once-in-a-blue moon talen,t and I feel honoured to help get her unique, visionary sounds out into the world. This is next level programming & sound design but always with soul, and musicality. Sui generis.

Isa says:
“For you only came about in the lockdown winter in 2020. I started seeing a lot of beats and motifs that I’d been working on working together as a collection and spent a few months compiling, completing, mixing and weaving together the tracks into a coherent album. 

It was many nights tucked away entering the wormholes of making music and trying to honour the emotion contained in each song by expanding the sentiments within them into complete pieces, chasing down the journey in each one. 

It was a very personal, solitary exploration of how I interpret and compose instrumentals, with the rare global situation inhibiting outsider contact and influence. I include a mix of tempos, styles and freely combine digital and live instruments in order to serve whatever intention or feeling needs to be heard”. 

Isa is an  Ayrshire bred, Glasgow based producer and singer. 

Impressed upon by myriad styles; singing folk music since a youngster; playing guitar since a teen; 
producing electronic music thereafter. 

Now freely cherry-picking whatever sounds, instruments, words and methods serve the feeling. Exploring solitary beat-making as Isa Gordon, and singing and writing heartfelt lyrical ditties with her band Fantasy Land.

For his third outing on the label DMX Krew returns to Super Rhythm Trax with a six-tracker showcasing a wide repertoire of his musical madness chasing listeners, dancers and DJs from House to Techno while adding the game, his game, a slight Acid-note (from time to time), in short: Second Moon EP is a classic before it's out already. The B1, a revisit of The Wiggly Worm, comes in with a lush bass line topped with a sweet Acid-line and the "wiggly worm" vocal, which - in the course of the track - is enriched with various effects just like the bass- and synth-line of the track. Once again it proves to be true that it's not the high amount of elements, which make a track an outstanding one, but rather few ones combined doing the job just as DMX Krew does and did with this one. Chapeau!

DMX Krew's Second Moon EP will be released on Super Rhythm Trax on August 22nd, 2022.

Cafe de la Jungle returns with Tuvan Spirits EP for Dans de la Desert, exploring
further his fascination with shamanic practices in highly dynamic sound
environments.

While his excellent debut Dancing with Cicadas was rife with dangerous and
mysterious rhythms, the Kraków-based producer takes a more laid back approach
this time. Built around cavernous ambiance and bass notes played with such
grace they paint a picture of a dance ritual so subtle, it’s visceral and highly
narrative at the same time. While the bass ballet of “Kus” opens the record in a
beautiful and stoic way, its followup—the percussive “Chas”—takes on a playful
approach as it’s juxtaposing throat singing samples with jaw harp-like one off
sounds bouncing off skittery beats. “Kysh” on the other hand puts his mastery
of modular sculpting to such a high that you might change your opinion about
Italians being the masters of dubby, ambient techno you can drown in.

To top off the EP in a spectacular way, Cafe de la Jungle invited Toulous Low Trax
who turned “Kysh” into his trademark mechanical style, achieving a fascinating
combination of off-kilter clockwork precision and long forgotten folklore of
unknown lands.

LBD sounds are back with a new 12" from their LBDISSUES series. This time they have a track taken from a sought after 7" single by Eva Hurychova & Jan Neckar from former Czechoslovakia, originally released in 1984, professionally remastered and with additional reinterpretations & edits.

"To Chce Mit Svuj System" is a sleazy electro disco number with its unmistakable 80s sound, instantly memorable without being too in your face. Optimo's JD Twitch comes on board with his extended edit, that stays close to original but has upgraded it for current dancefloors. Up next is a remix by Slovakian producer Tasun (who you might remember for his futuristic ethno take on ORM edits 12") that takes the original ideas into more psychedelic territories, while still keeping things danceable.

And last but not least, a newly formed duo of Oliver Torr and LBD Sounds label owner Olin, now working under Torr & Rich moniker, are here with their debut work - a pitched down 80s disco reinterpretation of "To Chce Mit Svuj System".

Jack Hamill’s Space Dimension Controller project has delivered some of the most enduring electronic music in recent times. Via single and album releases for the likes of Ninja Tune, Royal Oak, Dekmantel and Aus Music, SDC has thrilled with a certain timeless sound that has embodied science fiction swirling tones, glitchy and granular beats and a nostalgia for electronic music that always sounds futuristic.

On the ‘Cro2ma’ EP, SDC serves up a trio of intoxicating productions for the Hypercolour label. Highly accessible, yet detailed and intricate in design, Space Dimension Controller soaks all three tracks with sanguine melodies and bass blippy frolics that make for an exemplary release from the seasoned producer.

Mind Dance return with the second volume in their ‘Mystic Minds’ VA series. Launched last year as a way to continue the strong collaborative nature of the electronic music underground, each installment will shine a light on local Australian talent and their cross-continental contemporaries.

Continuing this mission with a new batch of friends, family and former label mates in tow, round two rallies six artists from home soil and overseas for another deep excursion into the vast expanses of dance music.

From across the pond we have Dutch producer and Music From Memory regular Dazion who kicks off the VA with a wonky slice of rhythmic downtempo, and Phran, a Barcelona-based artist and member of IVAN - a duo alongside Ivy Barkakati - who puts his foot on the gas with a stomping techno cut.

Closer to home we have Aussie dance veteran and the man behind Mind Dance’s last release, Andy Rantzen, deliver a tight bleep-soaked acid jam, followed by Leo James and Mousse flying the flag for Melbourne with twinkling IDM and laid-back vocal house, respectively. Finally label boss Furious Frank closes out proceedings with a downbeat percussive house number to usher in summer, if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere that is...
