This set of Ben Marchal was one of the most fun hours of Cherry Beach 2013! It has all the right elements of funky house and the awesome rolling thunder of deep techno. 
On the beach during this set there were at least a dozen waves of avid cheering, and the atmosphere at the end  just went explosive with applause. The whole beautiful day conspired to elicit Ben's superpowers and he completely slaughtered the beach - in a good way. 
We've known Ben for years and have always found him to be the best hidden dj around. He is a longtime lover of music and the underground scene and he plays just once a year for us at Cherry Beach. He's always been a crowd favourite - especially with the ladies - but this year was absolutely the one. Congratulations for an amazing moment Ben.

Miss Melera is a favourite of ours, introduced to us by the girls from LCPR. Her vision of a great music experience aligns with ours and she always wows our people. Her demeanour is humble and sweet, but she has a strong hand with music and her sets move from the ethereal to the thundering in a rich journey. She played this set as a back to back with the amazing Olivier Weiter on our hottest beach day so far this summer.

This was My Favourite Robot's secret surprise set at Cherry Beach. Originally hailing from Canada, My Favourite Robot has made global waves with their label and touring performances. This set was one of the most interesting and compelling sets we've heard at Cherry Beach, and they brought out a great crowd of fans who were really feeling everything they played.

Mike and Jamie came on hot in the peak of the night with this set. It was in our massive Mayan pyramid-shaped stage Chrystal 6 with the full show - lasers, lights, smoke machine, jumping costumed forest partiers. A great anchor set for a great night.

Matt is a great former Toronto dj now moved to Berlin. He's clearly steeped himself in all the amazing music there  and what's come back to us from this visit is a mindblowing trip across genres and decades. 

This was a fun last set for a great day that saw children dancing in the sand, lots of boats pulled up offshore,  people making out in the dancefloor,  and some killer dancing. Imagine that as you listen, and remember this all came out of a thundering KV2 sound rig.

We find Christian to be the most beautiful and esoteric of the Dirtybird record label founders. Christian's sets always blow us away and we knew that  his sound was perfect for our late night event on the lake on the tall sailing ship Kajama. Yes, that's the Toronto skyline in the background of the picture.

Picture a techno party on a pirate ship with people dressed as Vikings, pirates, seamen and whatever. Christian Martin losing it in the middle of the crowd and pumping the crap out of a huge KV2 soundsystem.  Ya that happened.

MightyKat is a legendary Montreal underground dj spawned in that city's early rave scene. Her Cherry Beach set was in the middle of the afternoon, right on the beach beside the water. The sound is relaxed and inviting, but always an intensity underneath that got people dancing hard in the mid-day.

We can't emphasize how much Jenner has become a crowd favourite for our people. And for great reason. The closing set of Chrystal 6 at Harvest Festival has such a sustained intensity, the dj thundering you into twilight and you want to hold on to the night before so it never ends. 

Jenner captures the moment - the powerful lingering passages dance you into an eternity and then on into the sun of morning. And all the while the lights inside the massive pyramid are twinkling and sweeping past.

Borella first played for us beachside in Barbados at our event with the Vujaday festival. We loved her sound. It was calming, infectious, sleek and immensely danceable. This Canada Day version of Promise Cherry Beach was one of our best events ever on the beach. it was our first super hot day that year, all of our friends were there in full force, and there was an incredible happy magic in the air everywhere. 

The focus of the day was Canadian djs and great party music. Smalltown Djs are huge western Canada superstars, creating touring projects with the like-minded Dirtybird crew in California, and slaying great dj slots at the massive westcoast fesivals of Shambala and Bass Coast.  They rolled in with a huge westcoast party smash-down set and helped us create the best Canada Day party.

Hauy emerged to us as a storied DJ and producer from Brazil who had made his way to Toronto. We heard such great things that we absolutely had to book for the Cherry Beach series. He was so great we immediately booked him for Harvest Festival main room closing set. It was an absolute miracle of time and place and music and spirit and captured many souls.  It was such an incredible moment we extended and extended his set a number of times. Enjoy this capture.

Me Time has become an instant local favourite, regularly playing sets of perfectly-timed dancefloor stormers. Her legend spreads past the decks as she regularly sells out her series of popular parties (Every Body etc) across Toronto and is a key champion of safe-space policy for the city. 

This set generated some of the best moments of our entire event run. The best set of the best day of the best year on our sweet Promise Cherry Beach. Thanks Me Time.

Loxxe is a great newer addition to the Toronto dj community and we've fallen in love with her sound over and over. Always versatile, going from dreamy opening sets to banging prime-time sets. Loxxe has been excited for Harvest Festival prime-time set for a while, so this was a big deal for all of us. In this set, you hear her getting almost a bit trancey, with tempos nudging way up into the 140's. A super fun ride.
