We are Yocho, a brass heavy New Orleans band with a strong salsa influence. We represent the Northernmost city in the Caribbean and draw our inspiration from our neighbors in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Panama. The soul of our music is in the streets, parks, and backyards, where the boundary between performer and audience is blurred, and where everyone becomes a tributary to larger river of sound, dance, and movement. 

Our original music begins with salsa and pushes into new territory, fed by the diverse musical backgrounds of our players. We understand the traditions, but seek to push beyond the past, and create a fresh torrent of sound that reflects the current times and seeks to heal our community through inclusion.
