This track was written and produced to be used in a mini documentary following the remarkable recovery of Grame Sneddon, Kaicho of Budo Kenkyukai (BKK) martial arts after a potential life-changing injury.

I used a combination of traditional Japanese instruments, representing Sneddon's and BKK's honouring of traditional Japanese customs within karate, and modern rock stylings, which represent Sneddon's and BKK's modern, reality-based approach to self defence and martial arts.

My submission for the Summer 2022 Indie Film Music Contest:

The aim of this contest was to create soundtrack music for a short animated film supplied to us. The contest deliberatley did not have any criteria assessing the production of the piece, so that is not something I focussed on. My aim was purely to create incidental music that conveyed the emotions of each instance of film and to represent the setting of the film tonally.
