The forthcoming LP from Delta9 Recordings presents everything the label has endeavoured to construct since they first began releasing music. Based between two of Europe’s most creative hubs, the label has stretched its roots from Berlin and Bergamo, in Italy, to draw out a host of inspirations. It’s dark, minimalistic and techstep sounds have filtered across subs within their biggest club spaces, helping to promote the drum & bass culture in Northern Italy and demonstrating its contribution to the worldwide scene. From its very beginning stooped in the culture of free parties and small venues, up until its fiftieth release, Delta9 Recordings have continued to push the boundaries since their inception in 2012. The natural evolution can be seen throughout their back catalogue of music as well as their live events, which have hosted several Italian and international artists from the harshest realms of drum & bass. And the LP which benchmarks a phenomenal number of releases channels the exact same ethos.

The album highlights both already renowned international artists on top of the artists which Delta9 will be working with in the future. As well as the already notoriously fierce music Delta9 releases, they also branch out into the liquid subgenre, which helps to diversify the music given a platform through the 50th benchmark. A host of talented newcomers and critically acclaimed artists stand out across the track listing.

Beginning the LP is ‘Neurotic’, which sees Flipz MC, Logics and Kodin take centre stage. Invadhertz brings LaMeduza on board for ‘Bullet’. SL8R offers up ‘Totum’ whilst Logics and Kodin return again, although this time for the remix of their track ‘Extrema Ratio Remix’ by Dabs. Disprove’s ‘Relative’, Akrom’s ‘Feelings’, Instinkt’s ‘Ultra’ and Ephyum’s ‘Numinous’ all deliver a harder edge. Freqax, Kaiza and Kryptomedic join forces on ‘Bolt’ and SD’s ‘Ice Cubes’ adds a cooler touch. Meanwhile, Synth Ethics’ ‘Flash Crash’, Neve, Frame & Skip’s ‘Say Now’, Stoner & Dottor Poison’s ‘Circus V’ and Underspawn’s ‘Gripped In’ only add to the multi-faceted subgenre styles. And Rafiki & Draize’s ‘Surface Tension’, D Flect’s ‘Sarasvati’, Sentic Cycle’s ‘Juno’, Jazzatron’s ‘Cheap Chip’ and Echonic & Nova D9’s ‘Stack’ further solidify just how far ranging Delta9 Recordings scope really is. All in all, it’s one almighty package. And Delta9 Recordings wanted to deliver exactly this for their 50th release.

Released on Lifestyle Music, the collaborative work showcases three hurters which skate the line between tech and neurofunk, including one collaboration with Australian up-and-comer Ewol.  All three tunes demonstrate the global talent level of dnb, and announces Black Barrel and Nami as ones to watch going forward.

The second part of Philth’s ‘Moments in Time’ LP is about to drop on Dispatch Recordings; after the success of its first segment, it’s sure to make a similar impact and start 2020 at a formidable height for Philth. Comprising thirteen more brand new selections, it’ll remind listeners of why his debut LP was such a sought-after release.

The album opens with ‘Let You Fall’, drawing for old-school breaks and emotive voice overtures. Meanwhile, Ella Sopp joins Philth once again for ‘Just a Memory’, with her luring vocals streaming through the mix. Daniela Rhodes is the next featuring artist alongside Philth for ‘Solar Cycle’, their drawn-out melodies and sublime vocals are underpinned by the tracks cinematic breakdowns and ambitious extended arrangement. ‘The Teacher’ pays homage to Philth’s darker waters, with aggressive distorted sub bass and rolling techstep drums. Interlude ‘The Storm’ nods to Philth’s vast musical background, whilst ‘Rivers’ allows you to become lulled by its searing strings. US duo Quadrant & Iris then join Philth for ‘Emerald’, a collaboration which mixes the light and darker elements which make all three producers so buy-on-sight. ‘Damaged’ is more ruminating, with moodier undertones and Becca Jane Grey makes another appearance with Philth for the rollers mix of ‘Lost in a Moment’.
‘Claws’ shows a new production face from Philth, with his drum work acting as a centre piece. ‘The Light’ once again demonstrates his lighter side, like the ethereal tones of ‘Just a Drop in the Ocean’. Finally Collette Warren steps up alongside Philth for the deeply reflective closing track ‘Stuck in a Loop’, the latest in a long line of collaborations between the pair.

Philth proves with another huge delivery that he’s able to take you through a range of emotions, something which his music has always endeavoured to do. ‘Moments in Time’ also highlights Philth’s enviable work ethic, something amplified once more by a production standard which is second to none.

DLR has launched his solo career with an astonishing rate of productivity and his release schedule has been packed full of exceptional quality music. We are proud to bring you his next single, arguably the most anticipated to date.

“We’ll See” is a collab with Bristol-based companion, Break.  The pair have joined forces again after the success of their last collaboration, “Murmur”. The result is simply stunning and the duo deliver a neck-snapping monster of epic proportions. Despite the mysterious track name, it’s a devilishly lethal concoction; combining the immense talents of two of the scene’s most respected producers.

Carrying equally destructive prowess, DLR continues on a solo tip into the B-side with “Tugboat”. The use of space in this hard stepper provides the perfect antidote to its predecessor’s intensity. The track is introduced with haunting atmospherics and ultra-tight drums. An enchanted bass is released gradually throughout, swinging amongst the elements; injecting a real technical funk into the track in a distinctive DLR style.

Finally we leave you with the experimental musicality and funk of “Delusion”, a late but freshly made addition to this release as an  exclusive  digital format only bonus track.
