Suddenly the music stops...

You see your friend start to panic so you break the tension by yelling, "Ten Pushups!"

Your friend smirks, everyone shares a laugh, and the music comes back to narrate an unforgettable night filled with dancing like nobody's watching, people watching, and new friends. Everyone forgets about the mistake, remembers we're all human, and gets back to enjoying themselves together.  You leave the show with: life lessons, names you remember (lol), and a blip in time that was uniquely ours, your's, mine, his, her's, and their's.
 
This is live music. This is why people gather to share the experience of an artist's expression of self, and witnessing the emotional discourse between the audience and the art. That's what it is all about. It's about: the moment that will never happen again, what we felt during that moment, and what we learned about life in that moment. Perfection is a facade, mistakes happen, and raw creativity unfolding unapologetically is where the magic happens.

I recorded this mix in one take during my flight from Philly to Denver using Algoriddim's djay Pro on my Macbook. It is incredibly fun playing with "NeuralMix" stem isolation. Being able to control the presence of the vocals, bass, and melodies in a track opened up a whole new world of mixing to me. It's not perfect, it's rough around the edges, but it is a raw copy of my creative juices flowing in my noggin. Accepting imperfection allows us to sharpen the tool we use to cut ourselves from the same cloth that every musical genius was woven into. At some point they discovered that down to the fibers of their being, they were cut out for it, and you are too.

Even when it seems impossible, always remember...
