The Desert Journey (Live in Karachi)

Kya Tha Yeh

It was during the 80s that Iqbal Bano;
a highly acclaimed classical ghazal singer 
from Pakistan, 
born in Delhi, British India, in 1935, 
(her family was originally from Rohtak, Punjab, India)
really developed an idiosyncratic attachment to
 the writings of Faiz Ahmad Faiz and gave them her own personality. 

She harnessed more public appeal after performing
the ghazals 'Dasht e Tanhai' and
 'Dono Jahan Teri Mohabbat Mein Haar Key' 
and became 
a musical specialist on Faiz.
This video is an ode to these artists who had found the spirit of art.

Mark has 20 years of experience playing guitar in a variety of genres around the world. In recent years, he has been working on incorporating guitar with various Indian and South African musical styles. Mark currently plays for Susmit Sen Chronicles and Sumangala Damodaran.

A versatile percussionist and a Performing Artist, who PLAYS A wide range of instruments( starting from tabla, drums to djembe) AFTER A YEAR learning Electronic Music at A.R. Rahman lead K.M. Music Conservatory, Chennai for a year. Currently he is learning Pakhawaj under Pandit Mohan Shyam Sharma.
