NEAT return to Exploited with what might just be their strongest EP to date.

The title track features Swedish talent Storken, who has released on Running Back, and channels beautiful ‘80s Balearic vibes into its skippy house template. ‘80s electro bass funk leads the charge while wonky tape delays massage guitar chords and female vocal cuts into the distance. Bubbling synths subtly augment the central pillars of the track. The blissed-out breakdown makes for a stunning ambient / chillout interlude, allowing this glorious track to breathe and stretch out its arms.

‘What’s Up D?’ continues the retro theme, with diva house vocals cut up and set by turns against jaunty chime chords and a warped, nagging, pitch-bending synth hook. The ‘90s house percussion shuffles away with tinges of techno in its clap patterns and soft ride cymbals, while rubbery bass pulsates beneath. It’s a lean, punchy workout that flits between euphoria and heads-down intensity.

‘You Know What My Love’ rounds off the EP in beautiful style. The most gentle of the three tracks, its combination of stuttering vocal cut-ups, spine-tingling chord delays and succinct yet driving beat make for a dreamy experience. The breakdown is a stunning affair, where soaring pads float atop sensual melody and hypnotic FX, sunsets and lapping waves invoked by its heavenly sounds.

Alongside his distinguished career as an audio engineer working with artists such as Drake and Mos Def, Brian Johnson has been consistently releasing his own quality house music via his imprints Master Chef Music and Bohemian Yacht Club. The Torontonian artist now returns to the former with four remixes taken from his debut album ‘Amsterdam To Broadway’, each showcasing the distinctive and unique sound Brian champions.

Kicking off the release is fellow Toronto native Greg Gow, the Restructured Recordings boss remixes the introductory track of the album ‘Amsterdam’ and gives its soulful, downtempo counterpart a mysteriously dark and dubby techno spin. Brian Johnson then provides a personal rework of ‘Silent Reign’, leaving the original’s deep arpeggios behind but stalwartly maintaining its sense of wonder by adding imposing synths, driving high-end, rumbling bass and rich layers of texture.

Childhood friends Andrew Robinson & Mike Martins then join up with Johnson under their collective Organic Life moniker. Fresh off the back of their latest EP on Master Chef Music ‘Love On The Run’, the three artists return with a new version of ‘That Life’, turning the track into a feel-good vocal deep house cut. Last but not least, Wess Pull remixes ‘Mastro’s Msg’, providing the release with a stripped-down version of the original, keeping the entertaining phone call excerpt but paring down its drums to a meticulous minimal groove.

It kicks off with two disco versions that he would surely be happy to reach for. They come from Alex From Utopia - he is a party impresario and a so-called DJ's DJ. Both of these have already been getting plenty of high-profile plays from the likes of Lovefingers, Jonny Rock and Ivan Smagge. 'Story Of Devotion' has a proto-deep house feel to it with nice analogue drums and a silky vocal, while 'Ask Ives' is slower and more psyched out.

The 3D DJs return with a spring in their step all ready to complete their trilogy of EPs for Selador and arguably, they may have saved the best ‘til last.

With Darren, Dave & Danny now firmly ensconced in the studio together working on a collaborative album project, this EP signals the final piece in the trio’s original concept of releases where each contributes an individual track.

Danny opens proceedings this time with ‘Shortwave’, an ever present in his sets over the last year that finally gets to see the light of day. Listeners with a keen ear may recognise this as the track the 3Ders opened their Mixmag Lab session with in LA last year. A delicious slice of uplifting Howells house.

Darren is next up with ‘Sleeping Bag’, a paean to the legendary NYC imprint that combines a sublime house groove and a seductive arpeggio with spellbinding results. Proper classy business straight outta Billericay.

And last but by no means least, Dave weighs in ‘Press 1 For Human’, a veritable banger loaded with off kilter synth sirens and a bass line so muscular that we demand a dope test. Innocent until proven guilty though and be warned, we have very expensive lawyers!

All for one and one for all, three is the magic number.
