Stigmitization has been Identified as a Major problem in AkwaIbom State where the Prevalence rate of the HIV Infection is high (5.5%).

The Nigeria Demographic Health Survey (2018) shows that the percentage of people with discriminatory attitudes towards People Living with HIV in AkwaIbom stands at 61.1%, one of the highest in the South South Region. 

It is time for increased advocacy to tackle Stigmitization and Discrimination.

In this regard, the Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (NEPHWAN) in Akwa Ibom is poised to push for an Anti Stigma Law.
Other stakeholders are pushing for same, believing this will help take the gains a notch higher and reduce Akwa Ibom's HIV Prevalence rate.

AKWA IBOM YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FUND SPECIAL REPORT FEATURES ON IFM's NEWS @7AM
