When Bristol began writing songs for this project, it was to cope with a recent breakup he had gone through in LA which ultimately would mark the end of his seven years there. From that point on my sights were clearly set on Nashville and pursuing my dream of being a singer / songwriter. The first song on the Album is actually his debut single and is aptly titled, “Breaking Up with LA”. The song resonates with a lot of people going through a big life change like moving to a new city or leaving something behind to chase a dream. However, it dives into deeper more subtle subject matters too, such as addiction and his struggle with being present while feeling stuck inside during the pandemic.

The second single on the album is a departure from the introspective nature of Bristol’s songwriting and actually tells the story of a cowboy “riding through the Arizona sun” which was inspired by his time in Arizona last summer with his dad as they retraced the steps of Bristol’s grandfather who worked as a cattle hand on the Bar 37 Ranch in Prescott, AZ in the 1930s. 

Bristol Coon’s debut album is set to be released January 2023. Other songs evoke themes from back home in Southern California such as ‘Ain’t No Surf (In Nashville)” and “The Singer and The Song” which dives into the story behind why he “packed up and headed for the south”. 

It’s an exciting time for this Coastal Cowboy who is taking to Music City like a tidal wave...
