It is Monday the 16th of February 2015 and we have Albert van Abbe back on the podcast, this time with a LIVE performance, which he recorded last July in Berlin. The set consists exclusively of original productions, mostly unreleased material, all arrangements and dubs were done on the fly and he did most of the sound-design himself as well. Albert is one of the very few Dutch Techno live acts, having performed Berghain, Awakenings & ADE just to name a few. For 2015 he is working on a brand-new audio-visual live performance entitled NDEBELE, which he will present at the STRP Biennial in his hometown Eindhoven as the after-show for Underworld's “Dubnobasswithmyheadman” concert on March 27th. On the first Friday in October TRACE welcomed Dub Techno connoisseur Andy Green of Verdant Recordings to Brunswick Cellars.

Here is the full 5 hour set, taking you through the gears. 

This wasn't your usual warm up/ guest Dj scenario, with Andy and Chris going back to back on 3 tracks each for a good few hours.

TM Shuffle is more than just a name in the international dub techno scene. The Finnish producer, DJ, and head of VUO Records has a rare talent for distilling the essence of depth, space, and rhythm into his productions. His music is infused with a hypnotic pulse that doesn’t shout loudly but tells stories subtly – of snow-covered landscapes, quiet nights, and an unwavering love for electronic music. What sets TM Shuffle apart is his uncompromising dedication to reduction. His musical philosophy is not about quantity but quality: less is more. By deliberately limiting himself, he becomes more creative – digging deep, searching intentionally for the right sound, and developing a distinct musical signature. This principle is evident not only in his productions but also in his thoughtfully crafted, driving DJ sets.

He shares this passion off stage as well: as the label head of VUO Records, he provides a platform for other artists who share his vision of dub techno – raw, organic, and timeless.

In a personal conversation with Andre Kronert, TM Shuffle offers insight into his creative workflow and studio philosophy. In a world of unlimited possibilities, he consciously relies on a minimalist setup: turntables, a mixer, a few select synthesizers, drum machines, and a computer for sequencing. The Open Circle is a Belgian producer with releases on labels such as  Greyscale, MixCult, Lempuyang, OHM Series, Crystal MUD, Insectorama , Crossfade Sounds, ODrex Music, Moonglade Sound, ECOUL SND. Sometimes songs were also released on vinyl. The Style can be described as Dub Techno with a personal touch. The production is mostly done using the Modular synthesizer and some Hardware synthesizer. More songs will be released in the future on some respected labels.

In addition, podcasts are recorded from time to time. The songs are chosen very carefully with the aim of being as original as possible.

Working steadily from his modest studio in Finland, Liuos has quietly become a respected name in the world of dub techno, with releases on Cold Tear Records, Superordinate Dub Waves and Piranha Siberia Dub.

Finnish Night's

Revelation of Sound is honored to welcome back our good friend ABSIS with a mesmerizing recording of his all-night long vinyl DJ set recorded live at his Midline Laut party on 01.03.25.

ABSIS is a Barcelona-based DJ and producer known for his deep and introspective Techno music. He has been a regular in the Barcelona scene since the late 90s, performing at events like The Loft (Razzmatazz) and Sonar and Mostra. ABSIS explores the deeper side of electronic music, seamlessly transitioning between Ambient and Techno. He has released music on labels like Hivern Discs, Oslated, and Huinali Recordings.

Biography: 
Brickman creates music at the crossroads of dub techno, deep house, and ambient. His sound is built on multilayered textures, dub-style echoes and reverbs, electronic rhythms, and powerful sub-bass foundations — forming a distinctive sonic signature. 

The project’s debut release came out in 2010 on Symphonic Silence Inside. Since then, Brickman has collaborated with both Russian and European labels, putting out music on vinyl, CD, and digital platforms. His tracks have been supported in DJ sets by John Digweed, Marco Carola, Hernan Cattaneo, Deepchord, Kirk Degiorgio, and Nadja Lind.

Between 2010 and 2019, Brickman performed live extensively at St. Petersburg venues such as Stackenshneider, Mosaique, Efir, Griboedov, MOD, and Berthold Center, as well as on RTS.FM and Vinyl Jam broadcasts, and at festivals including Abstraction and VPEREDSOMOTRYASHCHIY. He also took part in the Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp and composed soundscapes for several art exhibitions.

Since 2022, the project has focused on studio work. To craft his signature sound, Brickman employs both analog and digital synthesizers, samplers, and diverse audio processing techniques.

Evolove festival & music label co-founder, Sanrei is an unconditional love spreader who breaks down the surrounding light to create a music that fits his personality, warm and colourful. Travelling through genres and eras armed with his finest records, he devotes himself to his favourite hobby: putting smiles on people's faces and groove into their bodies.

A French DJ of Mauritanian descent based in Paris, Orphée has been mixing and, above all, collecting electronic music for the past eight years.
A fan of organic and mental techno, he mixes and layers tracks to guide his audience toward moments of collective euphoria. Faithful to the scene's legacy, he skillfully handles its codes with respect while reinterpreting them through the lens of new sonic languages.
His musical project, however, is far from monolithic. A connoisseur of electronic music in all its diversity, he seamlessly oscillates between styles and genres, always in service of the groove, the dancefloor, and
the dancers. He is also a passionate lover of the art of the opening set, an exercise he regularly hones with meticulous attention to detail.

I was honored when I was asked to play Garbicz Festival 2019. I had never been but heard many great things about it.

Arrived basically straight from the DJ booth in Frankfurt on the site with no sleep and while probably more than half of the people were still doing what I needed, sleeping, I could sense the love and passion that was put into this festival and what had possibly happened over the past 3 days in this beautiful space while walking around exploring most of the corners quickly and grabbing several excellent coffees along the way.

Donna Leake opened the floor at 1pm and possibly doesn't play what a lot of people would expect on this stage , but I absolutely understood why she was booked for this spot. Her musical knowledge is stunning. The vibe she set was brilliant.

Easy to say that I was nervous as f*&$ to continue after her but I think I managed to set the pace for the artists to continue after I had finnished. And hell yeah, that stage was going mental a few hours later. Top!

Since it was recorded, I decided to upload the first hour  (some things should be experienced live) and I hope you enjoy!
