Kalahari is the first EP from producer Sindh, who, like many of the artists on Valentino Mora’s IDO, expresses a wistful fondness for nature in its myriad forms. The project Sindh was named as such after the musician had an affecting encounter with the magnificent Indus River in Ladakh, the lush vegetation and landscapes in this region clearly inspiring Sindh’s sound. Sindh’s regard for the natural world as well as science fiction is reflected in the instruments employed in Kalahari ranging from flute, bongo, percussions and modular and Ciat Lonbarde synthesisers.

Over the four tracks, Sindh leads us through four distinct landscapes, the narrative unfolding track by track. In Saptura, ethereal atmospheres guide us through a ruin-strewn terrain where vegetation has virtually obscured all traces of human life. The resoundingly tranquil mood maintaining faith in the arch of the universe. Sidam opens with a more mysterious tone, inviting curiosity into the next environment as a gentle rhythm guides, allowing space for strange, other-worldly surprises. As winds whisper and synthetic rain responds, the pared back percussions that prevail in Nun-kun introduce a human touch. The warm grooves and atmospheres hint at a more temperate (future?) climate than the tracks namesake currently suggests. Arriving at the closing track of the EP, Kalahari delivers deep grooves and spirited high-hats that will ignite the weariest of travellers. The bizarrely brilliant inflections will remain in your ears long after the track is finished.

A stunning sixth release for IDO, Kalahari demonstrates the evolution of the label’s sound, offering the opportunity to include traces of minimal and glitch sound palettes whilst maintaining IDO’s luscious, spiritual qualities.

They brought you an hour of tribal and progressive sounds coming straight out of their vinyls.

Hailing from the tropical east coast of Australia Ferox Maw aka Finnian Cooney has been passionately creating textures and movement across a very wide field of genres – bending the known ground between tonal forms and industrial hues. With releases under Melbourne based label Steeplejack and Copenhagen based labels Janushoved and Amniote Edtions he has released music which explore the possibilities of auditory emotion and impression under the banners of deep sound design and subsonic weight. With his upcoming release on French based label Gautama he puts forth colours of the sub conscious euphoria and disintegration with a clear intention to reach for the listeners own perceived inspiration.

Atoloi is the project of Milan/Italy based Matteo Ghiringhelli and we are happy that he accepted invitation to our podcast series.

As a devotee of nature, Atoloi explores sound creating a mellow amalgam of layers using echoing synths, processed field recordings, and self-created samples; all mixed in a lysergic experience of heavy-grained noises and evocative instrumental compositions.
Not sticking only to canon club-oriented sonorities, instead, his productions and mixes search for other depths, in which the listener can get lost in a dense "no boundaries" journey for the body and the mind. 

Atoloi will be one of the performer at Transforma festival 2023, just in case if you would like to catch him around.

Indigo Aera is rebooting its ÆX limited whitelabel series after 3 years of silence. This new release aex016 marks the start of a new run of various artist ep’s with the familiar recipe: dancefloor oriented dj tools drawing inspiration from the more classic side of techno.

The release includes 2 new names to the label: the A1 track from Malin Genie is a true homage to the percussive tribal techno era in the ‘90s. The A2 from Anna Kost, is a strong electro / house hybrid which builds on a strong flowing breakbeat. A3 is pure melodic Detroit styled dub, from Ivano Tetelepta, who simply never disappoints and always delivers the highest standard. I was fortunate enough to play the closing set of Patterns of Perception for 2016 and wrap up what was an amazing year for the crew. Supporting DJs on the night were Ben Buitendijk, Tom Liem and Kim Bergstrand.

I’d been up for 24 hours before playing this set, so it is a little rough and ready at times but nonetheless, I had a lot of fun playing it, exploring different layers of techno.
